I have long wondered why they cast such a portly actor as a fighter pilot. Star Wars has always been cavalier about realism, but I could never imagine ever an organization like the Rebellion, which probably struggled to sustain an adequate force of pilots, would assign someone like that to one of its scarce few fighters.

Eh? If that were the case, then the space flames and explosions wouldn't exist, neither would sound in space, neither would laser glow...or lasers...or lightspeed travel.....lightsabers......or...... or ....OMG MY WORLD IS ENDING!!!
