Shadow of the Colossus and Ico

Alright if you have never heard of or played either of these two games, you need to. These two games are amazing works of art. I think most of you would enjoy Shadow of the Colossus more than Ico, but you should give both a try. The two games intertwine. Although Ico came out before Shadow of the colossus, it actually takes place after the events of Shadow of the Colossus. Ico 3 (we don't know the name of it yet) is currently in production and everyone is expecting to see something about it at the Tokyo Gameshow on October 15th. There is absolutely no information on the next game except for a single screenshot and the fact that it's going to be freaking amazing. Aw yeah that can be a problem...lol. Man! I want you to play it! It's so great! Well maybe you'll get a ps3 and then you can play Ico, SotC, and Ico 3, when it comes out. You could always rent a ps2, but that would be kind of ridiculous to do just for 2 games...but still worth it because they're amazing!

Ico on the other hand doesn't really interest me. It's an escort mission through a castle, and the princess is completely incapable of doing more then open doors. I'm sure it's fun if you enjoy the puzzles, but it doesn't really appeal to me.

Emulators? As I recall, they exist and work well enough. Getting a BIOS is more difficult, since pretty much no one is willing to host them (so you have to go through the rather difficult series of steps to trick your PS2 to dump its BIOS, which would require you to own a PS2 or know someone who does; in both cases you could just use the physical one, so it's kind of a moot point).

Anyway, I'd like to play SotC. I tried renting Ico once back in the day and couldn't get into it.

Well even then... All she does is cheat by flying like mary freakin' poppins with that damn umbrella and pull shit out of the ground and her dress to hit you with/throw at you... Radishes... Golfclubs... Frying Pans... Etc etc...

And poor toad gets used as a meat shield.

Except she's one of the weaker characters in both Melee and Brawl. Especially Brawl.

I've never tried a ps2 emulator so I have no idea :confused: . I think I've heard a few people say they played it on an emulator, but I don't know which ones they used.

Shadow of the Colossus... I hope this third title lives up to it, because that game was really, really enjoyable... apart from the low framerate due to the PS2 being somewhat limited when running graphics of that level.

Yeah I'm scared Fumito Ueda (the creator of the two games) is going to go mainstream and ruin the game, but I have faith that he won't. I really have no idea what to expect of it because Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are so different. I hope it's everything I think it' going to be.

I honestly loved Shadow of the Colossus but I went into it a bit nervous because Ico just annoyed me. The entire game manage to be so irritating that I just gaveup partway through. I've never went back.

Yeah Ico was kind of annoying at times, mostly just because Yorda is a fucking idiot and doesn't help you at all, but I think that's supposed to be her character. Although I don't think in her character design they wrote "a fucking idiot". She's supposed to be kind of dazed and strange because she has been trapped in the castle her entire life (not sure how to add spoiler covers over text but that didn't really ruin anything because it's extremely obvious from the start).
