View Full Version : What's up with my shower?

So when I engage shower mode in my bath, the shower activates but some water still comes through the faucet at the bottom. Okay, some wasted water, whatever. However the temperature of the water from the shower and from the faucet are different (like it'll be cold in the faucet and hot from the shower), and they sometimes change.

It's like the hot and cold water aren't sure where to go and randomly switch every few minutes due to turbulance or whatever. I can even crank the cold all the way up and immediately turn it back to what it was, and the two temperatures will end up different.

Anyone knowledgeable in plumbing have any idea what's going on here, and if so, is it easy for me to fix or do I need to get the apartment manager to call someone?

There's a ghost inside the shower. FACE THE FACTS!

Is the plumbing actually accessible without you breaking anything? If there's no way for you to actually see the plumbing without damaging the wall then you should tell your apartment manager about it.

The temperature changes,
it chills me to the bone.

It makes me wish that I was
cleaning myself at home.

It makes me grumpy and
sometimes I lose hope.

The water's hard so I
can never rinse the soap.

And it's got no pressure.
The water dribbles down on me.
And it's got no pressure.
It's like the shower's going pee.

something is fuct w/ the valves that control where everything goes... Likely with just one of them, I'm guessing the cold and its only moving half of that water to the shower head, the rest comes out the main faucet.

I'm not a plumber, but that's pretty obvious from what you described.

Now you just need to have it fixt... Call a plumber, your landlord, or a buddy and get to work!

Um if your renting, this is one of the things they are responsible for fixing.

A luxury of living in an apartment instead of your own house, let the apartment manager deal with it.

Unless you rent a ghetto apt, in which case it'd be best to just move. After they refuse to fix it of course, to cover your own ass. :) Hopefully that's not the case though.
