Starcraft Tournament Part 3 (We begin!)

Alright guys, we are ready to begin! The matchups have been done randomly via pulling names from a hat. Here is the schedule.

Helgeran and Cybren get a bye from the first round, this was necessary as we did not have enough players. All the matchups were picked from a hat so everyone had a fair shot at it the bye's.

Now some rules and mostly recap from the last thread...

You have a week to get into contact with your matchup and set a time for your match (via IRC / Hamachi / PM on the forums)
Map Pool : Bluestorm, Andromeda, Python, Zodiac, Peaks of Beakdu and Katrina.
Games will be best 2 out of 3.. For the first map, whoever is on top of the schedule picks first. Then the other player picks a map, and finally if a third match is required then it will be on the randomly selected maps at the top of the schedule.
Replays MUST be sent in to me! I will be in the Hamachi server (Forumcraft7/777) as well as in the IRC... Or you whisper me on the forums of course.. No replay = No win!
If one player crashes, then it counts as a loss for that player. Unless both can agree that he was about to win.
$29.73 ALL goes to the winner. As well as title "Forumcraft 2008 Champ." tm.


If you have any issues getting into contact with your opponent, or any questions, contact tigus,alfar or myself. I will be idle in the hamachi server for most of the time, as well as the irc. PM's on these forums probably works best.

Also one thing I was thinking, with the latency changer thingymabob on the iccup servers, we should hold the next forumcraft tournament (Assuming we have another one) on the iccup gateway... There would be hardly any lag at all.

Jeadong is the current world champion, one of the few good uses of burrowing I've seen. I really hope they make that ability worth something in SC2. Even with burrowing ultras they probably won't come in to the game till everyone has mobile detectors.

One of the only good times to use burrow imo. I had this debate with some fella's in forumcraft7, saying I should get burrow early in the game... But really the only reason I need burrow is for defilers.

and indeed.. Zergling speed > Burrow by far. Also means one less mut.. which could be the difference in taking down a turret in 2 atks or not. (2 atks + burning)

I think hes quite a rollercoaster when it comes to game preformance, sometimes he kicks ass, sometimes I don't know what the hell hes doing. I know he got good micro with some units, hes prety good with vultures, and he got a couple of good macroes down.

He has a chance, but I still think it will end like I already predicted, unless ofcourse Xife go up against Helgeran in the semis, then there is a 50% chance Helgeran will go up against surGeonFFS, or if Xife go against surGeonFFS in the semis, then I predict there is a 80% chance it will be them 2 in the finals.

I still see surGeonFFS winning this, but you are al realy good regardless. Sometimes I wish I got back in the game again, I just dislike 1v1's.

First game wasn't asskicking. It was damn close, you've got to do more stuff with your units though. Second game was your placement of the Cybernetics Core that cost you the game. Both were good games though, not like the rape-fest when Xife murders me with mutas next week.

Yeah I really need to do better with building placement as toss. As zerg I keep my buildings in the back (all of them); as terran most buildings are unit producers so they're supposed to be in the front. But as toss I just get caught up in poor pylon placement and have to rush to put my non-unit buildings wherever I can.

But yes, the first game I just failed to scout a second time to see that you had very little forces while I had quite a bit (i.e. that you were tech rushing), and then discovered your corner expo too late.
