AoC in a heartbeat. Sure it isn't anywhere near as good as advertised but at least you can get some enjoyment out of it. If you want another option I advise Russian roulette.

Edit: Poll beat me. Waiting may actually be better than AoC.

I would play WAR over any game atm untill DF. It offers the most pvp, runs good and is a far better game then WOW as its not pve based. AOC is a hudge pos. It runs like total ass. PVP is totally borked and as far from balances as can be and its run by Funcom who has the title next to D&L for releasing the biggest piles of shit and calling them software on the market.

World of Warcraft is to dependant on gear, and time, contrary to skill.

Warhammer MAY be worth trying, or if your like me, just wait till DF, that way you will enjoy it more.

Either wait, or try TF2. You can pick it up as a stand alone download and it is easily hundreds of hours of fun. Make sure you have a mic though. A decent mouse would be a good idea too. I am playing on a crappy NX mouse/keyboard combo and it lessens the experience. I want to get one of the Belkin N52(te) and some sort of gaming mouse at some point. I think before making any improvements to the PC, the mouse and keyboard are the most game altering devices.

I have played WoW for 3 years and there is one good thing about it. WoW is after 3 years of patching and balancing (well balance druids are still overpowered). It is fun till you hit 70. After few Karazhan runs you will be bored. Problem is that endgame content is 1) boring 2) VERY time consuming (standard raiding guild raids from monday to friday from 6 PM sometimes till 3-4 AM). WoW can deliver loads of fun (especially RPPVP) if you will do some research and choose your server wisely. Best time to start WoW is when new servers show up (starting on old server will deliver alot of pain cause Auction House prices on materials and such are extremely high).

Of those two, I'd say WoW. At least it's polished. But in general, I'd just wait, play single player games, smaller multiplayer games, or EVE. Maybe WAR but I don't have anything on which to base a support or opposition of WAR.

IMO, I liked War during the beta test, I kept wanting to compare it to WoW, but really couldn't as I got further into it. I just had to find "my class", ya know the one I love and'll stick with it. I'm really considering on getting it. The gear is fun, partying up, going WAAAAGH WAAAGGGHH as a black orc, nothing beats that, and just being a real obnoxious bastard. I also love zerging.

Also, War pvp involves a bit more strategy than just your everyone group up charge one point.

If the games class system was similar to TF2 in the sense that it offered up different TACTICAL options then I might agree with you but otherwise because it's stats based it's pretty much just a zerg fest regardless of what you do with it.

It's how you use the zerg that count's, like if your in a scenario, you run up to distract them, while your team runs around to take the objective, I dunno, I guess it is like WoW in the sense that it is a zerg, I guess I'm having withdrawals from the beta lol.

out of all the arguments about aoc sucking, fact is, pvp is fun in aoc. this coming week will fix gems, and sieging. it's by far not the most functional or well structured game, but the classes are mostly well balanced (when not factoring in gems, as per the test server). i wouldn't recommend this game to anyone however, mostly because i know a large amount of people who've never played it before will argue how bad it is. also a large portion of those people look for content as far as pve goes, which aoc literally has none. if you don't like killing people enough for killing people to make the game enjoyable, you won't like it..until this week when patch goes live and pvp rewards go through.

its exactly like counter strike except the name, you have a persistent character, and you can customize your guy with a bunch of different gear. some is just aesthetic (different hats, gas masks, different uniforms), but you can also use points from kills to get upgraded body armor and new guns, etc.

and you can customize all the guns, like COD4
