Australia seems to be banning Fallout 3 not because of the cannibalism, gore, adult circumstances or even language. It is being banned for drug use, the chemical power-ups that players can use to buff themselves.

What are your thoughts on the matter?

Here are two following links if you are interested.

When your nation is just the descendents of a bunch of crooks and thieves you can never be too careful of what is and isn't allowed. Perhaps the drug using is the straw that broke the camel's back and next thing you know there is an armed revolution and anarchy everywhere.

LOL then they should ban each and every fantasy game as well. What the hell do they think they use to brew healing potions?

Everything seems to get banned in Australia. As far as I know, even the Marck Ecko's Contents Under Pressure got banned there, because it involved graffiti.

Australia is such a fucking funny country.

did you know that back in 1967, with the words "I'll be right back", their prime minister went for a swim, and was never seen again?

also, where else in the world could terrorists detonate the first-ever non government produced nuclear weapon, and have nobody notice what they had done until 3 years later?

(they think maybe it was the Aum cult, and that it was a test for a bomb that would have been used on Tokyo, but the people testing it accidentally blew themselves up)

If any of this is true Australia just became my favourite country. Gotta love those cube-jellyfish.

That game is going to be so hardcore.

Too hardcore for me. I would play it but my shrink says that if I do it could cause irreversable brain damage on account of the epicness.

Pretty damn pathetic.

As the poster above me said, is torrenting outlawed games big in AUS or does the gov't track your downloads and such?

Thats pretty funny! Actually a nation built on the backs of enslaved people is more like it. Pretty much anyone the elites didnt like at the time. You could be the wrong class from the wrong place or simply dress the wrong way and end up there.

Anyways what Aus does is there own buisness. If they see fit to ban a game then so be it. The Aus people are by no means silent. If this is something "they" believe is wrong they can and usually do fix it. The rest of us would do well to stfu and stay out of it.

What are my thoughts?

I think it's beyond fucking stupid, not only that this is happening, but that the people in AUS actually accept it.

WHY is there no BLOODY VIOLENT revolution going on? We need one so badly right now.

Jesus, that's a bit tight. You Aussies can't enjoy Fallout now. That is of course, if it's good.

It's funny they outright ban it like that there's areas of Australia that have decriminalized small amounts and or allowed medical use of cannabis and in some ways they are being hypocritical. It's silly they ban some game that is gonna be on the spotlight for a few weeks and then nobody is gonna care about it except the modding community or some people that have yet to get the game. Pretty absurd they are banning artistic endeavors, seems like art is being slowly killed off by those who don't like this or that.

We can talk and argue about it, though we can't do anything to change it personally, it's still good conversation.

I have seen torrent trackers seriously go out of their way to protect their members privacy, there was an incident where demonoid.com got a cease and desist order from a canadian company and I believe they hid or something all their members personal info so they wouldn't all be prosecuted.

It's like that with ISP's for some reason everyone on the internet really goes out of their way to protect others' privacy and rights which is why we're even able to post ANYTHING like this in the first place.

Silly Australia and their censorship. At least it's not banned anymore, otherwise we'd have to wait a while after release for the Zero Punctuation review.
