Hey Darkfall roleplaying community!
First, an introduction... I have been a hardcore roleplayer in almost every MMORPG that has been released in the past 6 years. I have also been an active member in the prelaunch community for Everquest 2, Vanguard, and Age of Conan. Throughout my roleplaying career, I have waited for the perfect opportunity to create my own unique guild... Darkfall has finally given me that opportunity.

Now for my evil plan :sly:,

I am looking for one or two dedicated individuals that would be interested in helping to create a small, tight-knit roleplaying community. As the title of the thread states, it would be Mirdain only. The real twist is that we would be playing a group of super-conservative Ciel Fey... Why? Because there is a lot of material there. While most Mirdain are doing away with the old rituals, customs, and laws that have governed their culture for tens of thousands of years, the Ciel Fey continue to embrace these traditions. They are much more spiritually connected with the Great Forrest than their more mainstream counterparts and therefore have a greater desire to defend its borders... This brings me to my second point:
We will be an extremely elusive and secretive bunch who defends Mirendil in subtler, stealthy ways. Why charge into battle with tons of undisciplined players when you can dismantle entire armies with a small group of well-trained rangers?

Ah, I could go on for a very long time, but I think you get the point. If any of you are interested in joining in my efforts, please post or PM. It's a lot of work to do by myself!

That's a good thought. I have been sort of disenchanted by the clusterfu@# that is the Wessex / Kirdain / Hyperion alliance.

I like a secret society of Mirdain. What I really want to do is help compile an online database (secret, of course) of lore, specifically magical. I want to learn the cool stuff that only Mirdain can do and then keep it to ourselves. :)

That's exactly what I was thinking :D

And I do respect the Duchy and their ambition very much; It's just not my style. I'm looking for a small group of truly hardcore roleplayers.

If you're interested, shoot me one.

I'd love to be part of guild like that. Better than a huge guild of people who hardly know each other.

I recall a number of years back there was a guild who modeled themselves after the Ciel Fey, who made it their mission to defend the woods of Mirendil. I always thought it was a very cool idea but they've long since disappeared. I was hoping someone would form a new Ciel Fey guild!

GL in your endeavors.

Interesting idea. The Oromea sort of started out like that as well, though we didn't consider ourselves the Ciel Fey.

There are two things you should keep in mind.

Firstly, the Ciel Fey are enemies of the Mirdain establishment, and the npc versions of the Ciel Fey will most likely attack Mirdain players on sight. It may just be the case that players don't get the option of joining the Ciel Fey faction. In that case, although you could roleplay being the Ciel Fey, it wouldn't be particularly submersive because you would be attacked by your own (npc) kind.

Secondly, seeing as the Ciel Fey are enemies of the Mirdain establishment, by calling yourself the Ciel Fey, you effectively declare yourself an enemy of all other Mirdain clans (for instance, The Oromea). This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but just something you need to keep in mind.

Good luck with your project. Whether enemy or not, I support any clan that has Mirendil's interests at heart.

You have a point there Sel'Karim. The last thing I want to do is completely isolate ourselves from other players. In fact, interaction with other Mirdain guilds (such as the Oromea) would be completely necessary to fulfill our in-game goals.
However, while calling ourselves Ciel Fey might be a little extreme, I want the concept of the guild to remain the same.

And now for a status update on this project:
I have gathered a small team of writers and other motivated individuals, and this idea is beginning to materialize! We have slowly and methodically read through the lore, thrown dozens of ideas around the table, and have come up with some solid ideas that you will be excited to hear about. I'm thrilled that this idea is finally taking off and I hope to have something tangible for the community in the coming weeks!

Again, if you're interested in joining the team, please PM me!

I don't particularly want to join this project.

But I thoroughly enjoy the idea of it, unfortunately I am not a big RP'er, otherwise I would totally support this project in many ways.

I'm just wishing you the best of luck really. Hopefully it all works out and I know you guys will become a big part in the Mirdain community.

Most of I just really like the idea of you guys being all stealthy, makes me think NINJA :ninja:

Anything making the game more immersive has my vote.
