Whether there are books in which it is possible to do records and these books to transfer each other, how ordinary items?

Well I understood the gist of that...

All we know for certain is that there are no permanently writeable books. You can't get a blank book in it and write some pages then give it to another player for them to read. This would have been good for RP purposes but it's not in im afraid. You can however, add stuff to your character's biography I think.

Don't quote me on it though.

There is a personal "book / log / journal" you can write notes in. But as far as the old UO style books no not in currently. The devs lead on that it might be something they do later, but not in currently.

Unfortunatly in-game books/parchment isn't in. Hopefully, the devs will eventually patch in this great fluff feature.

You like Paladin Librams?

That is one thing I would like to see, magery requires you to use your spell book as an off hand item and can give bonuses to the caster based on the overall volume of magic in the book.

So you can have a Tome of Necromancy that when held will incur bonuses to spells of that school. These can even be player made, so high end magic users can scribe powerful tomes of arcane goodness to pwn with.

What do you think?

What you are talking about is something entirely different. It's still a good idea though.

I mean books, as in UO. In them it is possible to write down, transfer something to another, another too can write down and these books are stored eternally.

I would still love it if they patched it in at some point. It's the best fluff feature ever imo.

Books with records, ruins of constructions of players, skeletons of the ships after ship-wrecks is an occupation layer of the world without which the game world ceases to be the world.

The egregorial essence of community demands mechanisms of creation of an occupation layer of the world. Books which are items in game - one of mechanisms of creation of an occupation layer.

Through what time the subjects which are on the earth vanish?
Whether corpses decay?
Whether there are fields of bones on places of grandiose fights?

I agree, this feature would be good for roleplaying. Or even player run events and such.

Yes, I used to write books on UO too, and I would love to be able to do it in Darkfall. Let's hope, it will be in.

You mean like southshore the day after the honor system was released? Man I remember that day. We raped the dog meat out of the humans and bunnys that day.

Take it easy, breathe... don't get too upset.

Back to topic: I know, that it won't be in the release, but I meant, that I hope it will finally be added in one of the later patches. Should have phrased it better.

I was in my right.

Anyway, yes hopefully they'll patch it in later with other fluff features. I think there won't be any fluff features in at release because they had to prioritize other stuff.

This would be an excellent idea. Just start typing your own books. Writing tips and secrets for other players or just interesting journals for people to read. Would be a great feature.

You are right. I will leave him alone so he can nap in peace.

Anyway, I like the idea of writing nonsense in a book. Imagine a guild library filled with player textbooks on tactics, crafting, love making, etc...

You could even write an FAQ and publish in game.

This leads to new crafting professions... Printing and book binding. That would be utterly sweet. I can become the Tor of agon! Now we are talking!

Some years ago one great player wrote such library. In library was more than thirty books about events in the world.

Once, during assault, the stronghold has been taken and plundered. Any stupid noobas, who looted library, has thrown out books in trashcan.

Then in the world the third world war has begun.

Well since I going to be starting a Clan for mages, they need to really consinder putting this option in. I was going to use books extensively for my guild and one part of the Clan was going to be managing a libary and making books for guild members to use. It also a great way to recruit players in game. Im sure alot players will want books , lets hope it doesnt become a dead issue to the devs.

to be able to write books, or even just notes, is something i would fucking love to do. you could give a note to someone for a secret guild HQ or directions to some place or a lvling guide in game. shit would be so cash

Hell, if there are ever books, then I want printing presses and a goddamn book deal to go with it.:p I see the unexploited noobs now...

But being serious, a book would be rather sweet, just like Prol said, albeit in a less esoteric manner. The fact that we could record or even alter our own history/perspective of such through prose, verse, pr0n shows the true freedom and weighty consequences that DF can provide to the individual.

With control of the pen, one as previously mentioned can influence, subvert, and mesmerize an entire generation into a certain interpretation of events. People will accept these historical accounts at face value because of the nature of the hu-man race. We control all the data. We are the next step in evolution. THERE IS NO RESPITE! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!

Sorry... conspiracy theory ego tripping. Hopefully, people won't be that gullible to fall for something a guy wrote in a few books or so. Though I can probably can see some of the romantic fiction already...

"Oh, fair Mercian, I see that you are exhausted from the rigors of conflict.", spoke the fair elven maid from her silky red lips. "Let me tend to your members," she offered as her dexterous fingers...

This was an awsome addition to UO and I think it would definately deserve to be patched in or added later. Definately fluff, but well worth it.
