if the game is going to have a monthly fee to play (which i heard it will) will i not have to pay for non active months:confused:? Im too busy to play games when there is school, but in the summer I can. Im realy looking forward too the game, i was hoping someone would make a MMORPG without all that leveling nonsence. Darkfall will look like an awsome game

This has'nt been mentioned, but I don't see why you should pay when you don't log on.

I wish AOC did that, I didn't play for a month and still had to pay. Hopefully DFO will not make you pay for not logging on.

The devs have never said anything specific other than they will compare with the fees of other competitive MMOs on the market.

Since $15 a month has been the standard for a few years now, I'm guessing its around that. I doubt they'd not charge you for not playing. If you're not playing, then cancel the subscription. They're not going to monitor whether or not you're playing just because you're too lazy to cancel it.

You don't pay for months as long as you cancel the payment subscription. They aren't going to babysit you and monitor times you've logged in.

it will no doubt be just like every other MMO sub model. $10-15 a month, recurring sub unless you tell them to stop charging them

If you know you cant, or suspect you cant play just go month by month...most games have 1, 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions.

im new to this whole mmorpg thing and i never paid subscription for any game i played because i dont realy like MMORPG (again because of leveling) but i still have one more question, if you cancel a subscription do you still have your charicter when you subscribe back?

Yes. You'll have your character forever, or at least a very very long time. No matter how long your account is inactive.

that depends on the company that runs the game

maybe they decided to close your server and you had 2 weeks to transfer it to another server...just an example

maybe they clear accounts that haven't been active for a year...

but tbh, none of my characters ever got deleted...
I recently gave my old SWG account to a friend... the acc was closed in 2004 and my character was still there when he re-activated it in 2008

so don't worry too much about this issue... it's nearly non-existant
memory capacity is cheap and nearly unlimited today :)

Changes from game to game: Some say 90 days of non-subscription before you risk losing your chars, some a year, some 5 years, some let you keep it forever.

Oh yeah, and even the ones who say that they'll delete your char after X days of not paying will usually be too lazy to actually do so.

Yeah, WoW adopted the "Come back whenever" policy, but to be honest I can't think of an MMORPG that hasn't? (I usually don't look at such things, only know for sure about WoW and SWG's polices on the matter.)

All MMOs I've played allow you to access your account any time after you leave. It would be dumb of them not to. The space required to store your character could potentially turn into future money. If they decided to come back, which happens all the time in MMOs, the little space that the character takes will now turn into cash for the company.

To find out your character has been wiped is probably going to stray them away from starting over again. It would be an awful idea to not freeze accounts.

my UO account was inactive(no subscription) for about 5 years. i played for a month just to see how much worse the game got, and my char was still there : )
