We run and prefer a smaller style guild and are wondering how ppl think that will tie into the game. We planning on running a viking style group of raiders.

Small guilds are good for RPK, but will lack at sieges. Crafting might get difficult, too, but this problem is most likely not that big, as RPKs have a lot to loot.

Aye, go RPK. Small evil guilds with small expectations will be having the most fun if you ask me. You can make a fortune and piss a lota people off without being a static target if you don't take a city or village.

Big evil clans like ours on the flip side are going to have it the hardest... but some people like it hard

You won't go past being just raiders.

Forget about holding any cities.

I've heard references to some sort of tracking, nothing like the crap autotrack but some sort of tracking. Think it was in the "ask system questions" thread or what-not.

If you can track a player to his general locale (I effing hope not) then a small group is kinda fucked.

If you can only track people who've been recently through an area (I hope so) then just be fast and you'll be o.k.

There's no tracking, as far as we know.

My guildname explains it all. This is how we were in SB when it was possible, this is how we'll be in DF. Errants. The most fun if you ask me.

use hit&run tactics as much as possible to keep your crew fitted for war and sack merchants and small towns

I imagine it will mostly depend on the clans general skill, organization, and determination. I can see some of the best small clans owning a small city and defending it for a while, but most small clans will probably have to find there way as mercs, raiders, and adventurers. The best will probably make a name for themselves and team up with some strong allies who will help them keep their enemies at bay in return for their skills in combat.

For the small clans it's gonna be survival of the fittest and so if your clan is lacking in quantity, I suggest you make sure there is good quality within your ranks.

Also I'm thinking a lot of small clans will turn to PvE when they realize that they aren't getting far with the PvP.

We would gladly listen to You and Your clan plans for DF. Maybe a cooperation could be a possibility. There are a few Viking themed clans out there, most of them "Good" aligned, maybe Your clan could be the vicious vikings we miss so far ;)

I say as much in my post that it's known that there will be no tracking (like hunter's tracking skill in wow or tracking in SB). As I said, though, I remember system referring to the possibility of a track skill in the game (like the one in UO).

At least I think it was system - I went to go search and it seems I'm behind the times and there's no longer a sticky thread to ask questions in. I imagine system got tired of every noob asking the same question week after week.

Depends what your goals are. If you want to conquer many lands, hold numerous cities, and crush the largest raid bosses; probably not well. However if you have a fetish for ruining other people's days and causing pain wherever you are present, then not too bad.

Isnt that the fetish of everyone on Forumfall?

You will be absorbed, you will be crushed, you will beg for mercy, you will hide at the farthest reaches of Agon!

I understand territorial border issues within the KoH are actually quite reasonable :)

Small guilds will have issues unless they latch on to someone bigger.

Hey Angelmar, how's it going buddy? This is Ventrix, former officer of Winterblades back in the SB days.

Small Clans are crunchy and go well with ketchup. :ohno:

That being said, little Clans should form Alliances with each other to maintain their own little culture while having backup against the horde.

My clan is allied with www.SavageAlliance.net

Small Clans Great! I would prefer a smaller group anyway, hate the big clan thing lacking communication etc etc. But everyone is in a big group here so i figured i would end up a loner for a while
