Why wouldn't anyone in Wessex step up and take leadership of their own guild? Are there not long time veterans of this guild fit for leadership? How do members of Wessex feel about being ruled by an outsider? If I was a long time member and some outsider was given rulership and to call the shots I would be outraged and revolt.

Surly is a long time member of Wessex. He did a great deal for Wessex under the name Baron von Fishbarrel. They're already familiar with him as a WSX leader.

The funny thing is, Surly isn’t gone from the Anvil. He still hits our forums, still going to be playing a dwarf, still part of our kingdom, and still going to be able to give his wise advice to the current leaders of the Anvil.

All he is doing is taking charge of WSX for a time. If anything this should help bring the two guilds together. I mean, who really has time to lead two different guilds?

Savant has been around since the creation of the Anvil and helped make the guild what it is today. So I don’t see how having him lead us will make a difference in the Anvil.
