If someone got killed and his buddies loot the corpse to return all items to dead person later - no penalties death. Zerg ftw?
Or some items would be destroed?

He doesn't get a penalty in that case. That's if his friends manage to win the battle.

What makes you think your friends survived?

And yes, anyone can loot your tombstone.

Why should their be a penaltie if your haveing a friendly fight with a friend?

Would be very surprised if you don't take a hit on skills when dying. To prevent abuse.

Abuse of what? Fighting/training amongst friends? Having fun? Huh?!

You wouldn't want to fight with your friends. Huge alignment shift every time you kill a possible clan member or fellow race member.

You got it wrong when you said huge. A few kills won't be detrimental.

And most games take hits to your skills on death because they really have no other way to penalize you. I'd be slightly surprised if Darkfall did it.

As long as the game hits the Pocketbook and redeployment times, PvP will be meaningful.

You don't want punishment to be TOO harsh, or else no one will fight unless they're 300% sure of victory.

So hit-n-run tactic pretty useless against zerg?

Against the individual members? Yeah. Unless you can dry loot 'em before the rest respond you won't cause any real damage. That is to say - if you charged at the whole freakin clan at once. I'm sure you can catch pockets of them on their own and make off with all their gear.

Now 'harder' assets on the other hand... you can really ruin a clan's day by hitting those. Blow up a ship, destroy a building, slay the guy's mount - these things will need to be rebuilt.

U could make a duel system and when the other player’s hp reaches 1 he looses duels over back to full hp. Or clans can build an arena u pay 2 battle your friend in a safe environment + u get the added bonus of a tournament and I thick something like in mount and blade could work, u get basic items, get divided into teams the wining team advances to the next tier and the top 3 4 something players get a reward and clans can make money out of this. Lets say there are 100 players that joined entry fee 20 gold (Or whatever the currency is) that’s like 2.000 gold
1st place = 700
2nd place = 500
3rd place = 300
And the clan gets 500

Confirmed to be no skill penalties on death. Losing your items remains the only penalty.

Anyway, even if they manage to retrieve the items, they will have been damaged through use. Armour especially. Obviously not a huge impact, as all players will be prepared for item degradation but it is still there.

Warcry- What if you kill someone of your own race?

Darkfall Team- There will be an option that your friend can use to forgive you so you do not take an alignment hit.

U could make a duel system and when the other player’s hp reaches 1 he looses duels over back to full hp.

This is already in place. When you reduce someone's hp low enough they get knocked out. You can then revive them or deliver the finishing blow. If you and your friend are just sparring, you would obviously not finish him off.

Unless you crit them on the final blow. Whoops. :D

just the thought of your belongings in peril is penalty enough !
