I think when the game starts most will run off fast to find the best spots for towns and such. This is where the first pvp will come i think, clans fighting over locations.

This was just to demonstrate that noone will try to attack ther people right from the beginning since they've probably learned from beta that these guards will be pretty tough.

There will be a lot of idiots on a massive killing spree, but that will just be a waste of time. Those who are intelligent will want a jump-start on completing their goals and those who aren't brain dead will actually play the game when it starts, not just mindlessly battle.

if you know that the instant you attack anyone, 100x other players who can attack you now without any penalties + some really tough guards will come after you, it doesn't matter how stupid you are: You won't attack.

I think it will play similar to how UO did on release. More of a chaotic game to start but within the first few weeks it will settle down and get more civilized as people develop characters, learn the rules, and start to form social communities.

UO had lots of people just running around killing one another outside of town at release. Even vacant places like Yew had lots of fighting. It probably won't last long as most people will want to get going with their character. And once those people develop an even somewhat decent character, they will be able to mop the floor with the pure-nub killers.

The starting area's are heavily guarded by NPC guards, so I doubt you'll see TOO much attacking. However, ofcourse people will do it - Take a few smacks at you, and hope they kill you before the guard kills them. :

Theres always going to be those random guys who try to fight everyone in sight. Like what was said above, the real pvp is going to start by the fighting over the city locations.

I agree, it wont happen straight away because although you've got nothing to loose, youv'e got nothing to win either. So you get some starter gear. So what? Youv'e already got it to start with, and so does everyone else. No-ones gonna buy it, its basically a lead weight.

That's not true at all. If people arn't in a guild, they have no goal that needs to be done right away, so why rush into it? Why not have some fun and get a little practice at the pvp without any kind of repercussion. People are gonna play the game for the pvp, why would they NOT experiment a little before they tie themselves down to a certain race.

And its not about hate that drives people to kill others in a full looting pvp game. Who knows what goodies could be laying around on an innocent corpse.

Yeah not really. I'm going to PvP as quickly as I can so I can learn the basics of combat as quickly as possible. PvP is kind of the point of the game, I don't want to suck at it.

I forsee most people going on a killing spree to test the combat system outside the starter towns. On day one anyway.

On release though I imagine most clans will be head-starting to a city of their choice that they scouted in beta,or just looking for one asap.
