Graphic vs gameplay(thread started after gameplay video's)

I know we did started an other thread about this,but this one is the only one after the last video.

Before the new video,many ppl vote for gameplays and graphics was very very low.

Now i saw many many ppl complaining about low graphics and i whnat to know wat ppl think in general.

For me,its always gameplay overall.I never cared about graphics because i still play streetfighter 2.

again? Poll is decided already, Gameplay > Graphics. But imo only to a certain point. If graphics get too worse (not the case in Darkfall) the game fails no matter how good the gameplay is. But if the graphics are good and the gameplay medium, the game sucks ass (imo).

Dont forget its hard to create a game whit 10 000 players in one server.So the graphics have to stay low and the animation of each players too because it would lag too much and we will get(server close)so many time.

If graphics get higher then gameplay and a devs see that,they will probably add instance and we dont whant that no?

All they can improve whitout adding instance,is improve computer animations and their graphics.But computers is an other story.

I mean players make the lags.Not npc's

I am happy with the graphics in the trailer. And judging by the screenshots, I'm sure people with high end PCs can crank up the details. They could work on the special effects a little bit.

Gameplay is the main thing, but you need decent graphics to help with the immersion some. I think disappearing buildings and hover-tanks were decisions by the devs specifically to help graphics. Not sure I like them, but if it was necessary to keep down the lag for a game with good gameplay, then it may be worth it in the long run.

Well imo Graphics are just as important as gameplay in any game just slightly less so in a Mmo. i dont want to play a cool N64 game i want a kick ass next gen Mmo, i could go play Jackel or Mario if i didnt care about graphics.

Graphics don't have to be works of art. Someone earlier said that they still play street fighter 2...thats still to this day kind on the eyes. Ultima Online 2D is still kind on the eyes. Quake 2 and baldurs gate are still kind on the eyes.

All that was needed in darkfall was as smooth animations as humanly possible. Hack'n'Slash games with crap animations are the lose. It's the one and only graphical element which really effects the feel of the gameplay.

I heard that it could be possible to add +10 000 players for a tototal of 20 000 players. If they keep the graphics that way,we will get it.

Gameplay all the way. I've been playing Diablo 1/2, Starcraft and most of all an awesome rogue Text-Based game (thats right, i brought it up, text based) called Dwarf Fortress. And its not cause i have a crappy computer, i've been playing Oblivion/HL2/TF2 as well for some fps.

graphics pull people in who had no other knowledge of a game, however people who know of a game and research it would buy it based on playability.

IMO when a game is developed for PC, it needs to be able to play on a normal persons PC not just the hyper gamers PC. I wish I could afford to build one but the best I can manage is a slightly better than average one. So for a game to look spanking I instantly think, whats the point won't run on my PC. if a game looks ok or good, which IMO this game does, and the game play sounds fun I will make the effort to at least try it.

note If my computer doesn't run this game I am going to upgrade until it does. Even if it takes me a year.

Gameplay first but animations have to be reasonable.

High Poly counts, high res textures, nifty lighting and shading effects, etc aren't important to me.

I would be happy playing as an animated stickman AS LONG AS HIS ANIMATION WAS SMOOTH so I can focus on how cool the game is, not on how much his walk cycle makes me want to vomit.

The graphics are a joke at the moment, bearing something less than WoW or WAR. I have a good PC setup and I don't like wasting it on a subpar graphics game because of all the poor people out there who can't upgrade their PCs.

You have no idea how the ingame graphics will look.

I agree...in this day and age, I refuse to play something that looks like it should be on an Atari....

Utilise Dx10, Good screens are getting cheaper by the day, I dont see why we should have to forfeit one for the other.
