I'm assuming the storms will auto-hit you making it impossible...

they sont want to make you circle around because they want to be able to add land in later expansions. So what they did is when you reach a certain spot you get auto killed by giant sea monsters

I believe the devs said the world is technically round, but it is so huge that you'd never be able to sail around the entire thing, so they seamonsters are there to kill you. They may even have invisible walls as a backup

You just keep going, and Seamonsters will keep attacking you, untill eventually you go to far and one insta-kills your ship. There's no circling the globe. It's like this so they can add more land in the future, and yes, I did get this info from a dev journal. One of the newer ones.

The world is flat not round. This is for 2 reasons.

1. It's rather difficult to make it round.
2. Making it round would make adding new continents later seem really silly. I assume they are planning to do that.

You will end up getting killed sea monsters btw.

It will be like on the Truman Show. First you'll nearly die in a storm then you'll bump into a wall with the sky painted on it, go up some steps and go through a door. I can't remember the rest:(
