Does the game support unicode?
For example, can you name your player using non-Latin characters, chat using local language, etc?
I know that using unicode may increase the size of the databases, because it uses multi-byte characters for many languages.
Sorry if this is a duplicate post, but I haven't seen it discussed in the Forum.

I wouldn´t expect to see weird characters like ♥ and that kind of gay stuff but i hope they add accents, diaeresis (ü) and foreigner letters like Ñ Ç etc in order to satisfy all the people.
Btw i´m spanish so i´d really like to see my language characters (Ñ and right sided accents ie á é í etc.) probably french people would like to see their Ç and i think that germans use diaeresis and some other characters but i´m not pretty sure.

Considering the OP is greek, he is refering to the fact that no game offers true unicode, simply some add the unique characters of some languages.
For example, in wow, you can write in spanish or french, but not greek.

Mmm truth, i didn´t notice his nationality. So talking about greek characters like alpha (α), beta (β) etc. and rusian characters, i think that they are less likely to be ingame, but for the sake of justice i hope they are in, a greek player has the same right to name his character in his language as an english player.

I hope not because those names are impossible to work with.
Player 1: fuck I got killed by this ganker
Player 2: damn, let's go get him, what's his name?
player 1: uhm.... öwB$satkuütoak1 something

fix´d. This game is less name based and more "what you watch" based, you won´t get a lot of names in combat, you must recognize your enemies by how they look like (race, gear, clan emblems, etc.) more than by their names

I has been said somewhere that player names will be only with english characters.

Tbh, I would prefer latin only, not even specific characters of some langauges, exactly for that reason. But if they are going to support other languages, they should be fair at it.

No cyrillic alphabet support please in ingame chat channels. English is a universal language so use it. Case closed.

It´s obvious that we´ll be using english into the game because the servers will be english but discussing about this can´t harm anyone and it can give some ideas to devs, or at least that´s what i think

12. How is the naming going to work and what characters are permitted in names?
Right now we allow only letters of the English alphabet, the underscore, and limited use of numbers. You select a first and a last name and this combination has to be unique.
