Dexterity is generally a modifier for Accuracy along with other things like Critical hit chance.
If Accuracy is based on the players aim, do you think there will also be an in game factor for whether or not your attack connects?

If there is a crosshair i'm guessing it will be smaller.

That's a good idea, I never thought there would be a X hair though.

Maybe it will increase the speed of the arrow or whatever since it would reach the target faster and be more "accurate"
Or smaller x-hairs

Dexterity is also used for attack speed in many games.
UO used Dexterity for stamina pool.
Just two possibilities...

We've heard that low-skill with a weapon can cause your attack to fly off course a bit from where it's aimed. It would be easy to do the same with Dexterity if the developers wanted it.
EDIT: We also don't know for sure if there's a dexterity stat, do we?

It might add to damage.

It might add to run speed, speed while reversing/strafing, speed of weapon change, etc.

i would imagine DEX gives you higher max stamina, and higher stamina will result in faster attack speed, faster movement, maybe even more powerful attacks.

Thats a great idea.
I wonder why the OP didn't think of that!

Thanks, Shnedit.
Pleasure, but you didnt have to thank me.
Make you move faster, make you swing weapons faster, increase your stamina, make your shots more accurate (decrease the size of the gap in your crosshairs), or all of the above. Take your pick.

I like the idea of the smaller cross-hairs and faster straifing

I think it will be UO like,
+dex = +sta&IAS || +str = +hp&dmg || +int = +mana&spelldmg

Purely in relation to the aiming bit, you could have:
- Less random spread in the shot. Ie. at very high skill-level the arrow allmost allways goes exactly where the crosshair is, but at low levels it might very slightly deviate in some random direction, so that the arrow may miss if the target is far enough away.
- Bow movement while holding a knocked-back arrow ready could be less, making it easier to get your enemy in the crossshairs. Strength should perhaps also have an effect on that.

Do we even know for sure that Dexterity is a stat?

Of course not. We don't know anything for sure at this point.

Seeing as this game isn't level based and gear plays a lesser role in this game which is cited as a skill based game, why would Dexterity play a determining factor, come to think of it, is there even attributes at all? Sounds like a whole bunch oh hooplah in this thread.

Yes, there are attributes such as strength, dexterity and intelligence.
