View Full Version : Multiple DxDiag

I just wanted to see who else is in the same dilemma as myself.

I run a laptop and a desktop PC.

PC is Intel 4 based 3.2ghz, 256 nVidia graphics...

Then my laptop runs on AMD Turion 64x2 1.6, with ATI X1100 graphics (for laptops)...

And i dont know which to submit as my computer for beta testing..

The PC has better graphics and a common processor... Whereas my laptop is dual core with worse graphics...

Beta testing wants to use a variety of machines to test darkfall on, so they can find how well it runs on certain specs. Instead of everyone submitting their 'gaming' pc as their beta testing one.. there will be a lack of variety in machine specs

I just have a feeling I will submit the DxDiag that is similar to most others, and my other computer could be something few people had similar to and therefore ideal for beta.. (in theory, i know my computers are not anything special)

But I was wondering if it would be possible to submit more than 1 DxDiag, as I would be willing to install the game on both computers (or just one of them, if requested by Adventurine) so there is more choice of system for them to pick from.... It may help with checking how the game runs on other systems..

What do others think?

I'm in the same situation. I just submitted my desktop PC's DxDiag but I'm quite sure my laptop is up to the task too. I don't think its really such a big deal, although being able to submit multiple DxDiags would be nice.

Submit your most powerful system IMHO.

Submit for the computer your going to play on.. Can't be that big a problem, we all want to help them on all our computers

But beta testing needs to cover all specs that players may use, including weaker ones, so they can find out how well it runs on lesser systems, no point everyone using high spec pc's..

Thats the point i'm trying to get across.. which is why i submitted my laptops, as i guess few people will use laptops for beta testing and as wide a spec as possible is better for beta testing.. When it comes to play the game officially is when i will use a higher spc pc. Why test on a machine everyone else will be testing the game with...

I think you should submit your laptop.
You know.. a lot of people have more than one computer. I have 4. I would be willing to submit all of them too. Lol. But, I probably would play on just the one. Same with most other people. Submit your laptop and don't worry about it. We're all in the same boat.

Doesn't mean that you'll get in just because you submitted a lower-end PC, either, though. Chances are you'll have the same opportunity no matter which system you go with.

I have five computers in house including my laptop. I submitted the one that I will be using to play DF on. All of them could play it, but it doesn't help the devs out if you get selected for beta because of obscure computer specs and then you don't beta test on that machine.

That's a very good thought.

Submit the dxdiag for the computer you are actually going to be playing DF with. They set that up for the above reason.
