Don Fry vs Takayama (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgAp0jcpYYc)
Good from about 1:20 onwards. Takayama's face gets fucked up.

That was hilarious the first time I saw it. I am actually kinda of surprised it hasnt happened more often with all of the MMA shows there are these days. Alot of guys just put their heads down and swing wildly.

not best quality vid, but one of my favorite MMA finishes. Valencia punches this kid so hard he stops in his tracks. Its like a Popeye fight.

The guy getting kicked in the face was Teila Tuli. Pretty sure that was his first and last fight.
Old stuff was entertaining but none of those guys hardly knew how to fight and if they did it was only one limited aspect of fighting. Interesting beginning for MMA nonetheless.

Fedor destroying Tim Sylvia though was what shut up all the nay sayers who had been talking shit about Fedor since the fall of Pride. The UFC propaganda machine is a very powerful tool.

yeah the skills were basic back then, it was alot more brutal though. there were some awesome fighters though royce gracie comes to mind. how pissed would you be to loose to a guy who twists your foot till you give up... awesomeness.

Yeah Royce was what brought jiu jitsu to the mainstream, but he would get destroyed today if he was still fighting top guys, and vice versa if you would take one middle of the road guy at any weight class today and have him enter those old tournaments they would wipe the floor with any and everyone.

I imagine that Fedor will end up fighting whoever gets the UFC heavyweight belt and destroying them.
He is the most natural fighter IMO.

I'd love to see Fedor fight Couture, Brock Lesnar or Big Nog but I major doubts the UFC will suceed in signing him for one fight. They have extremely restrictive contracts and if Affliction folds Fedor will get picked up by Dream or WVR in Japan. He has 2 or 3 more fights on his Affliction contract and Couture just signed a 3 fight deal with the UFC. The third fight on Coutures contract could possibly be against Fedor if the UFC can come to an agreement with is management but Couture has stated multiple times that he only has a couple more fights left in him and Brock Lesnar and Big Nog are not cans by any means. Especially Nog who is a stylistic nightmare for Couture and the only man ranked higher than Couture other than Fedor.

Fedor will never come to the UFC and this is why:
Dana White does not understand Fedor at all. I just listened to the press conference for the Couture/Lesnar fight and Dana White was talking about how if Fedor wants to be considered the best P4P fighter in the world and if he wants to have some "legacy", he has to come fight the best (UFC). The problem is that Fedor doesn't really have a fiery desire to be considered the best in the world and he doesn't really care about a legacy. I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but the competitive edge is not what drives Fedor. He does so well just because his entire life is and has been hardcore fighting. He has no need to get pumped up for a fight; it is his very essence.
Fedor and his management will not bend to Dana White's UFC as long as there is Dream and other organizations to go to.

QFT. However, I have to wonder how much Vadim Finklestein (Fedor's Manager) has control over Fedor and all of his decisions.

Hard to pick just one favorite, Bas and Fedor have pounded the crap out of a lot of people...
Royce Gracie vs Jason Delucia

Jason is a creep, he even sent Bas Rutten voodoo letters through the mail that were written in blood. I'm glad Royce ripped his arm off in that fight.
