I have tried to find but havn't yet, information about the balance in the game. How is it going to be controled and such. I am fairly sure we've all played one game or another where Numbers made or broke the enjoyment of that server. For example Dark Age, on one server one faction ruled and on another one of the other two would rule. Is it going to be balanced. I would have no problem with it being set up to where if you wanted to make a faction on a server that already had a larger number compared to the other factions, that you wasn't allowed to.

I'd be interested in others feedback on this, suggestions and even information on how it is in Darkfall since I couldn't find it. Personally I feel game balance (faction balance) is a very important part of any game. It either makes a server enjoyment or just a living nightmare.

Wow Smaller Font Plz! Anyways The only thing I Have a problem with is the Alfar not being grouped with Ork/Mahrim. I Just dont think thier going to have the numbers to really compete

There aren't really preset factions in DF. Members of the same race can and will fight amongst each other.

With that said, I'm sure there will be certain guilds or alliances that become powerful, but that is the beauty of this game. The players will decide this. In Dark Age, it was the realm with the most popular classes, or the most popular land/leveling area that became the overpowered zerg.

There shouldn't be any synthetic limits in place to stop a powerful guild, alliance, faction, or any other group of people, from rising up and having power.

I advise you to change your post to a normal size, that way people might decide to read it and answer your question(s).

Factions are not big enemies that will rule over other factions. But ofcourse if you play for example Alfar, you will have more enemies and be at an disadvantage to for example humans.
I've tried to answer your question as best as I could but I didn't really get what you were asking.

Yeah sorry about the font size. My montor hard for me to see so I tend to use larger fonts for reading ease. But that was a bit too much. Sorry about that all.

Wow Muse looks like one of those players that need things just thier way. Hope not to run into ya in the game. If font size is too much for you to handle. LOL

You're confused on how Races work in this game. Unlike DAoC where you are 'forced' to one realm. In this game Races are free to go against their own race and join mixed-race guilds or can ban together on their own race. Also, while I may play a race that hates your race by lore, I do not necessarily have to attack you. Nothing in this game will force you to corner yourself in one form of play or the other. That's what everybody likes about this game, you have the freedom to play your character as you see fit.

In this game all the races can interact with each other. Pretty much everywhere (obviously some racial NPC's will attack you, but strictly speaking of players -- they have a choice).

It's more about guilds and guild controlling/fighting over resources and land than any arbitrary Race condition.

Thanks for your information and help everyone. From watching the vedios, I was wondering is there fall damage? Seen players jumping from upper levels down onto a group, so was just wondering.

At this point anything we say about 'Fall Damage' is purely conjecture. It sure does look like you can jump from pretty amazing heights and survive. It is unclear however if they are suffering any fall damage or if there is fall damage in the game.

If you have trouble reading the fonts, hit cntl + a couple times. I know on my monitor they can get pretty small sometimes too.

Also remember that in DFO there will be up to 10 000 players on a server. I would predict that a clan that gets more than 1000 will be impossible to manage. Zerg guilds will have a hard time in this game, because of the fact that you can't just load up 10 level 70s who can lay waste to everyone in their path.

Even so, if one clan dominates, that doesn't make the game less fun really. Just change your perspective. You can join a smaller clan that harasses that larger clan with raids and such. Pick weak places, organize raids etc.

I might be a little optimistic here mind you.

world is huge. theres no way one clan can hold all of Agon.

cities and starting zones are safe. train your skills there as a newbie, form a newbie guild that levels up in safe areas, and then you'll have a chance. easy.

There is absolutely no way for one clan to control even half of Agon. Last I heard, there are going to be over one hundred clan cities. Every time that you declare a siege on another city all of your own cities become vulnerable to sieging. The sheer numbers, organization, and capital required to run a clan capable of such a task is effectively impossible to achieve. Not that people won't try.

Hence the "organization" requirement.

U want info on balance? This game hates audo balance. Alfar are like a free4all race. They can ally with anyone and most of this game is group combat. Not go kill the other race like wow or w/e. When u play u will see human vrs human exc. Races will only deside what cap citys u can go in.

also races with small numbers have a merchant advantage over the others because of the race mounts/weps.
