I installed it on my Sony laptop, and it worked great. Ran absolutely fast and didn't crash once. On top of that, the few features they did add (let's be honest people, they didn't exactly reinvent the wheel here) are understated and elegant.

Yes, understated and elegant!

Anyways, I just installed it on this HP laptop and the fuckin touchpad scrollbar feature, where you move your finger on the right side of the touchpad to scroll a page, doesn't work. I can scroll down, but not back up. It also scrolls down too fast. I think it's a simple coding but, but unfortunately I have no idea where the source code is, nor what language it's coded in.

Is anyone else having the same issues? I like Chrome, it feels like a less clunky firefox. I just want to be able to scroll up and down :/

Your post is misleading. My title makes sense. As I write this, I'm using firefox. I wish I could be using chrome. Disappointment at it's best.

I find it more annoying, that the "go back" funktion does not support automatic reload function for dynamic content pages, like the FF.

And the middle mouse button scroll functions is missing as well.

Meh. Get a mouse.

you can't click the middle mouse button and scroll up and down by moving around the little thing it pops up on firefox.

problem is related, methinks.

i don't have a mouse cuz i'm at work. usually i use a wireless usb mouse and it works fine. anyways, i think this is a HP-chrome issue. however, i've only tested it on chrome and sony.so, i have no idea how it works on any other systems.

You know what's dissapointing with Google Chrome? The freaking EULA. http://tapthehive.com/discuss/This_Post_Not_Made_In_Chrome_Google_s_EU LA_Sucks

the eula is a fluke. they copied it from another service. there have been many announcements about this. and regardless of the EULA, you have to realize a couple things.

1. its open source. you are free to download the source, remove anything related to google (besides maybe documentation of credit given? idk how the license works), and recompile it. hell, you can (probably) even redistribute it.

2. look at the network traffic man. it's not sending all of your information to google.

*edit*

god i sound like a fanboy. i'm not. it's just that what i said is the way things are.

You do know that by using Chrome you agreed, that every information you put(text, images, etc) through the browser, google inc gains the rights to it.

Just FYI.

We know. Someone just linked a page that said that.

Google can quote that if they like.

Considering it's still in beta, it's already a very decent browser, and I like the idea that it does things differently from firefox, opera and IE.

About the EULA: Although it does say that they can use your IP, they can only use it for promotional reasons.
If you really have to post some IP to a private site, do it on firefox or opera, whatever suits you.

Just my 2 cents, it's back to Opera for me until it's out of beta, at least.

They rarely do, but there are products that are out of beta.
Thing is, chrome is open-source, meaning that your average Joe can edit it.
I personally believe this will happen, even if google never pulls it out of beta.

The thing about the EULA is really nothing to be worried out.. it's not like all the information you send from the browser is routed through google's servers - there's no way for google to know if your content was uploaded with their browser or not.

I have the same problem with my laptop. The scroll up doesn't work. It's apparently happening with microsoft intellipoint mice and synaptic touchpad devices.

I imagine it'll be fixed soon, I just wish someone would get on that.

It's a decent beta, but it is just that... a beta. No doubt much of that will be fixed, then again, some of it may not, firefox and IE still have issues with certain OSs and sites.

It does have that overly decadent feel to it though...

I dislike the way they try to be funny... when you uninstall it says 'Was it something we said?' also, the options tabs are called things like 'Under the hood'; whats that even supposed to mean?? Its hardly useful anyway.

I just find it kind of patronising thats all.

Well, I just downloaded it...

It loads threads on forumfall slightly faster, but loads the main page slower.
