Was just curious on how much effort the devs have put in regarding Vista 64 bit users? I know this may be a stupid question to ask, but I have been playing Vanguard for the last 2 years and they still have issues with people using that OS.
Cheers

Vista didn't exist when they started making the game but I doubt they haven't made sure it works on Vista.

Yup, DF have to be able to run on Vista. Otherwise it'll be strange.
There is no other options b/c I have one. :)

Just as long as its playable on the operating system with the largest market share once released, I wouldn't worry too much...

Since its all DirectX one would hope that any incompatibilities with vista will be minor and hopefully revealed during the beta.
(still dreams of a game company with both the design vision of Aventurine and the coding compentence to not use the direct x crutch, but that seems to be a pipedream.)

I should hope they have catered for Vista, otherwise i cant play :P
The devs most likly will have made sure the games playable to the full extent on vista.

They've said that it's DX10 compatible (although it's not true DX10), so it should be fine with Vista.
Now, whether it's fine with 64bit OS is another thing, and we'll probably have to wait for beta testing to start to know for sure. I doubt that it'll be a true 64bit game, but I hope it'll run as 32bit smoothly under 64bit OS.

Look in the Darkfall video that just came out when they go to the elf city and show banking trading and crafting. Look very carefully at the icon on the screen. Its safe to say vista will work with DF.
Edit: Yep, look at 5:32 in the video to like 5:36

well if they want it to be a 'games for windows' game, which is a pretty good selling point, then microsoft has to certify it to work on vista 64

A windows vista loading icon apears instead of the mouse. I'm assuming that it means that the game is running on a vista system.

Vista didn't exist when they started making the game but I doubt they haven't made sure it works on Vista. with that reasoning you belive they added support for windows 95?

what the hel,l how often did you watch the video? I wouldnt ever have seen that, not even after watching it a million times lol
you should rename yourself to Eagle-Eye o_O
would be a good sign if they actually showed it on Vista though tbh (although I dont use it yet)

I saw it the first time around, but that was with prior notice. But i dont the blame the guy for watching it that much. Its a damn good trailer brimming with detail and info on the game.

Darkfall will not be running on DirectX 10, therefore if Vista is your OS you have to install DirectX 9 on it. Not a big deal tbh.
Edit: Im not 100% sure tho.

My sig has one of them, I tried to see if the guy's head might just be popping off with it still attached to his shoulders, but instead I saw a funny pose of the head in the air which translated to my sig. Ummm not much yet, there's a dwarf that looks at the ground all retarded-like during the final siege where the orks/mahrim charge the walls, hes probably a camera man. I'm still combing it for cool things tho. I will undoubtedly find more.

It will run on Vista, but it isn't designed for Vista.
Hmm...
That quote both eases me and worries me.

Just a note in-case some people are confused... Vista is a 32 bit OS unless you specifically purchase the 64 bit OS.

Most all hardware is 64bit compatable now, shame the software peeps refuse to jump on board.

I love 64 bit. Being able to run 6+ gigs of memory and have the ability to utilize all of it. (I do a lot of multi-tasking on my CPU). And you are right the downfall of it is lack of support from software companies. The biggest one with this issue is Adobe imo. I run into so many bugs with that program I can barely use it sometimes.

I only meant that you will be able to play on Vista, but it might not take advantage of everything that Vista may have to offer.
