I agree custom avatars would be nice but I'm not too worried about it. Like you said, at least we get sigs.

You're obviously a new guy. Recently there was added a bunch of decent avatars, the racial faces. Before that, few and crap avatars was more of a problem. Seriously, a banner/standard/flag doesn't feel much like a person. Considering a very large portion of the forum switched to the new ones, the old ones probably sucked.

This forum has some good features though; multiquotes and picturesigs f ex. I hope they don't have to disable it for performance reasons.
