I need a new show to watch. I'll watch anything as long as its entertaining. Drama, action, thriller, etc.

Just finished watching House M.D.
Which was nothing more then pure epic, and i never was a huge a fan of E.R shows. Watching a 45 year old junkie doctor acting like a 8 year old anarchist made me laugh more then a hundred times.

So give me your tips boys and gals, and maybe hermaphodrites?

The insults and Dr. House's obsession with Dr. Cuddy's boobs are worth the "brainwashing".

The Venture Bros. is excellent. It is superficially a Johnny Quest parody, but it's really much richer and cleverer than that.

I also highly recommend 30 Rock, even if you think that you don't like Tina Fey; I certainly had a low opinion of her work after misguidedly exposing myself to a few segments of her excrutiatingly bad tenure at the "Weekend Update" desk on Saturday Night Live, but thus far I've found 30 Rock to be hilarious.

The Grenada Television Sherlock Holmes series, starring Jeremy Brett, from the late eighties and early nineties, Rumpole of the Bailey, starring Leo McKern, and Jeeves & Wooster, starring Stephen Frye and Hugh Laurie (now the star of House) are all excellent and produced for British television networks, but probably acquired tastes. A Nero Wolfe Mystery, produced by A&E before it became a stinking, festering cesspool of reality series, headlined by Dog: The Bounty Hunter, is similar to them in general and in the probable peculiarity of taste required to enjoy it.

I think that the Japanese animated series Now and Then, Here and There and Cowboy Bebop are great, especially as they lack many of the most obnoxious tendencies of Japanese productions, and the latter has a wonderful soundtrack, but I have insufferably unconventional tastes, so be wary.

If you haven't watched The Critic by now, I think that you should.

Lethn
08-31-2008, 05:54 PM
I wasn't going to say anything about anime but yeah I think you should check that out if your sick of normal t.v shows, the great thing about the Japanese is that they censor NOTHING which means you've got blood, gore and I'm not talking about the pansy stuff either where they scream and the camera moves away and you see blood either, there's this one scene in an anime and I'm not saying what where a character gets their hand blown off by a sniper rifle as they're about to raise their weapon, if you avoid genre's like ecchi ( that's perv stuff >_< I mean really ) then you can get some genuinely good anime with really deep storytelling and human characters.

I've pretty much stopped watching t.v altogether thanks to bittorrent and anime combined just because it's so good.

I sort of agree. While I value 13 episode series like Kino's Journey and Elfen Lied I find they usually have to be rushed if they have a good plot. My favorites are shows that stick to 24-26 per season.

I like Cold Case and Law and Order--both are on TNT. If you're into Discovery Channel, they have quite a few good shows nowadays. The History Channel really isn't about History anymore--more about trying to market Deadliest Catch knock-offs using fat truckers who think they are polar bears. National Geographic is a great channel to watch on Friday, as they have a new series called "Locked Up Abroad" (No, you cannot lock up broads, Anvil members), that's about people who take vacations, safaries and even drug runners who are caught, and goes through their experiences in their point of view. Then there's TBS, but I wouldn't reccomend watching any sitcom other than Everybody Loves Raymond and King of Queens on that channel--nobody wants to watch House of Payne or The Bill Engvall Show (i'm just waiting for Tyler Parry and Bill Engvall to figure that out). Overall, I would suggest Discovery Channel, National Geographic, some of the History Channel, TBS and TNT for your surf list.
