To the devs, when you release the video please put the specs of the machine you are playing on in the beginning of the video so we can get an idea of what we will need to run this game.

Seems reasonable. I'd imagine it will vary widely - I got the impression from Tasos' post that they got footage from separate machines as they played each other. But if Tasos reads this, I don't doubt he will consider putting up his specs for us :)

It will probably be more than one computer. But yeah, an average estimate would be nice.

That's the point of putting the specs, to see whether or not it's necessary to buy a new computer or not. Some people might not want to spend money on a new rig if their current one can still run decent fps.

here is what youll need most likely
1GB - 2GB RAM
Non-Dialup internet
10GB freespace harddrive
150 dollar graphics card
Keyboard
Mouse
Power cords
Electricity
.. Seriously, if your comp is from 1990 you could still play if you had RAM and a video card. Save up 300-600 dollars and get some decent upgrades. I'm sure everyone here uses a PC from 2001 and beyond. Mines 2003 I believe... and I spent 500 dollars on upgrades from when i bought it stock? I can play any game ive ever wanted to no problem. Battlefield 2, World of Warcraft, Dark Ages of Camelot, Lineage 2, Counterstrike Source, Halo online, Vietcong, Rohan, Requiem, Perfect world, the list goes on and on... the only games I cant really play (nor do I want to) are ones where you've got to have 6000 dollar alienware computers, like Crysis...
Point: Get a job.

Well it looks just a tad more detailed than Lineage 2. So I am guessing, if you can run crysis (I heard most alienwares cant .. and theyre MADE for gaming - and cost 1000's) then you can play this game fine. I should be able to play it on medium/high. If not I will be fine with low, im not a graphics whore. I just dont like lag.

I can barely play M&B and even when I do, if I play it for more than an hour, my PSU fan goes mad and sounds like an engine and my PC overheats and resets. :(

I know i will have no problems running DF, but does not mean that
the specs dont interest me.

what if i play Oblivion at maxed settings. imo, if you can run garrys mod, you can run DF.

looking around at the prettyness in this game will et you killed more likely , so an old comp running graphics on low may not be that bad of an option.
But then death has no consequence other than having to kill one NPC for some new gear

My comp can play crysis on high but it jitters fucking madly on the aliens, those idiots just put way too many glows in there, otherwise it looked fucking gorgious.

Well from what i have heard about the system requirements its gonna be somewhere in the ball park of wow-age of conan but its leaning more towards wow so if you are able to even run age of conan you most certainly will be able to play this game, atleast thats what i have heard.

I just spent a grand total of 365 upgrading a rig at my house.
I kept the Case, the HDD, Monitor, KB, Mouse, and the DVD burner, but replaced everything else.
--------------
RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V = $55
BIOSTAR A740G M2+ AM2+/AM2 AMD 740G Micro ATX = $60
A-DATA 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 = $75
AMD Athlon 64 5000+ X2 = $66
ASUS EAH3870/G/HTDI/512M Radeon HD 3870 512MB = $105
I had a promo code that gave me $15 bucks off something, I think it was the Power Supply, though I'm not sure hehe.
The exact video card may not be available, it wasn't shortly after I ordered, but you could get the same card by a different manufacturer for another $15 or $20 bucks. Or spend another $50 and get the 4850 instead. :)
This runs Crysis on High.
I didn't notice any noticeable difference in game play from Medium to High, both w/ 8x AA on.
This was from Newegg btw. :)

Yeah newegg rocks I suggest it for any computer appliance purchase. Bought all my RAM, mouse, keyboard(s), headsets, LCD screen, all that junk, from there, cheap as hell, and all of it works fine and hasnt broken :P
whenever you buy a PC stock, you really only -need- RAM and a decent video card, and ur fine.
p.s i got some boston acoustics (speakers + wuffer) from like 2000 and they fuckin bump, they own

the only reason I stayed with UO so long its the onlything thatll run
LOL
any how i run an 1800 atholon 256 radeon 9800 w/shader w/ 2 512 sticks and a 256. (some times i drop that 256 chip as its a lttle slower but most times it helps)
I did do some research and can bump up to a 2.4 quad for under $300. I would be basically top dog for that board but it would last a while! That means Id keep my vid card and ram just a mother board and proccesor and alls good!

You really don't know much about computers and the programs that run on them do you?

I think it will be pretty scalable so unless your PC is a dinosaur it should be able to play the game.
To the devs, when you release the video please put the specs of the machine you are playing on in the beginning of the video so we can get an idea of what we will need to run this game.
Why would they do that? They might as well just release minimum requirements instead. Don't expect them at the same time as the video, though.
what if i play Oblivion at maxed settings. imo, if you can run garrys mod, you can run DF.
I'd say if you can run Oblivion at any settings you'll be fine.
