Just curious because Im confused about where to download the files, and what time it all starts, etc etc. Please, save your +1/idiot troll comments about how much it sucks to yourself. This is what I do. I play MMO's and I judge them for myself. So if you can't help....don't :p

If your in the beta you got an email that tells you which site to sign up at and gives you a validation number. The beta center. Then after you validate, refresh the page, and click the download files link. Go to Utorrent and download their torrent program then download the torrent from the download file section at the beta center. Then wait about a week while it downloads because no one knows how to fucking seed. Out of 1000 people 12 people on average seed. Its fucking gay.
Warhammer Alliance has a forum for war beta for more info.

When the hell are they getting rid of the NDA?

I'm already in the beta; I don't need other people me telling me what I'm experiencing. I'm just wondering when I can start really talking about it seriously.
Lindorn, if they're handling the preorder beta anything like the invite beta, you should get an email telling you where to go to get your account information straightened out and where to grab the client downloads.

NDA lifts when open starts which noone really knows when that is, all you can do is download the client today unless they surprise everyone

I'm a little put off at how carebear the following of WAR is. I've started posting in their RvR forum and I've since learned that there will be an open RvR server type (meaning there will be no PvE safe-areas in any zone), and I was quite pleased.
The general consensus their, however, is that safezones are good because "the only thing different in Open RvR is that I would get ganked" or "I get to PvP on my own terms". Then there are the chuckleheads who think core rvr servers will arbitrarily have better pvp, when in reality the only difference is that their zones will have queer ass "safezones" for people to hide in when they start to lose.
And the influx of WoW kids will make the situation even worse. Oh well, it's just a matter of time, but I think it'll be fun for a while. It's something to play, and I'm sure as hell not waiting another 4 years to play DF.

No. I might play the open beta just so I can totally confirm that it will be another uninspired grindfest whilst spreading the word of Darkfall, but I have no intention of spending 1 penny on buying the actual game.

No cos War looks pants......saving my money for DF
its in a high interest account so the longer DF is delayed the richer i become
Win Win i reckon
What's up with NDA's? Can't you just anonymously make a blog or something? No one will know.

If someone really wants to track you down, they will. An anonymous blog might work, but only because people will be too lazy to track you down and kill your dog.

NDA probably, as been said before, will be washed from the face of WAR once open-beta arrives. When OB arrives though is a mystery. It will be released (ed by Jacobs and GOA) at the same time as for us Europeans and GOA (the EU publishers) doesn't even have a worthy webpage (www.war-europe.com) yet.. It will probably be released within early September.

There's a preorder box at Target for 99 cents, that gives you a beta key and a coupon for 5$ off the game itself
I might go grab it

I'm already in Beta. It's funny, because they keep sending out a newsletter telling me about the latest Beta additions and such, but it's been about a year (I think) since I last played it.

If they're actually making pre-orders for betas then it means that they're trying to fleece as much money from you before people realize the games a complete joke? Haven't you lot learned a thing from AoC? Honestly.

World of Warhammer?
HELL NO!
I already have a Warcraft subscription.
Unless they add a completely open PvP server, I see no reason to play another class based, level based, gear based game.
That being said, I will probably get it anyway.

Absolutely.. I played the POTBS open beta and it saved me 50 bucks not having to buy that peice of fucking trash game.
Hopefully the WAR open beta will do the same.. as I pretty much expect the game to suck ass.. but I have to see for myself.

That's where Im going with this. Ill spent the 5 bucks on preorder, see it for myself, and then determine whether its worth buying or not. Well here so far is my impression of mythic in action. First they say preorder open beta starts on the 15th, so i go to their site, activate the key, and see that on the 15th they've changed it to the 18th. I show up this morning on the 18th ready to download my files and see they've now changed it to Sept, 7th.
This feeling is a rather familiar feeling to me, at least with Darkfall though I feel like Im waiting for something unique. From mythic though I hardly have the patience to go through this bullshit.
And honestly, I really hope the mods start slapping some of you guys around. Your post padding one liners and useless additions in most threads are one of the primary reasons threads around here are degenerating into useless piles.

A friend the beta for a bit... he said it was definitely lacking. Its basically the same as any other MMO. A few new innovative spells, but the same useless grind and zerg tactics.

If there is 1 thing I learned from AoC it is not to trust any new MMO that's trying to get as much money out of you before you even start playing. That and the fact that WAR is by EA is enough reason too stay clear of this puppy.
So unless I can get a chance to play WAR for free to see what it's like I wont even bother spending cash on it.
Most likely it'll be another WoW clone so best not to spend any cash on it.
And with Spore coming roughly at the same time I have enough to do so I wont be playing out of boredom.

Not sure what the point of having a 1 week open beta is. May as well call it open preview.
I say 1 week because the 18th is release, but there is supposed to be some time for CE people to play before everyone else. So some chunk of that 11 day period has to be taken away from beta.
Personally I hope a huge issue that isn't easily fixed is found during that 11 day period before release. Mainly because it's stupid to do an open beta (stress test?) 1 week before a fixed release date IMO.
