View Full Version : How Big is Too Big?

Most new DLP I see are at 1920 x 1080.

It makes me wonder in what type of sharpness difference you see between 1920 x 1080 on a 50in, 61in and 72 in.

I'm considering buying a new HD DLP soon, but not sure if the bigger one will really look better, or just more stretched out.

The distance between the TV and couch is like 6-8ft.

Big is good. Big Big Big.

I actually know jackshit about tv's and the best resolution at any given size. But I do have a 72in Magnavox hanging on my wall and surround sound. It doesn't disappoint.

As did I...but those measurments are far to small to be referring to my cock.

I don't get it... like someone said the other day, forumfall is where science goes to die and the avg age must hover around 22.

How do forumfallers have the money lying around for 72" TVs?

It's only like 2000 dollars.

well that begs the question... when I was 22 I barely had $20.20 to get drunk on PBR down at the local dive. Even now, I'm sure I make more than 90% of the folks running around (not because I'm special, just because I've had more time for degrees/training etc than most) and still I'm sure as hell not in the market for a giant TV.

Doesn't everyone else have student loans etc raping them in the cornhole?

Most student loans you don't have to pay back till 6months + after college.

lol I guess that's a nice window before the TV gets repo'd, grad/professional loans usually kick in immediately

Mr Bush gave me a nice amount of change to stimulate the economy (and stimulate the economy I did), as well as $1000+ I had sitting around after a few months of only leaving my house to go to work and buy food. Figured I would complete entertainment system while I had the cash and before I spent it all on things that wouldn't be there the morning after I bought them :)

It's just as with the rims. It's 100% comparative to the size of penis. The larger the utility the smaller is your penis. You just need that balance in life. It's normal.

Well, I'm going to get a bigger tv soon as well. The one I currently own is really, but reaaaaaally small (I think it is like 12yrs old). Does that mean my dick is going to shrink?

52" is perfect at that distance, and really is the maximum you can blow up 1920x1080 to without losing sharpness. The larger sizes will be more impressive and will grow your peen, but it'd be better to invest the money you'd save on a 52" in a good surround sound system.

Yes, large gadgets work just as steroids. They make your pee pee shrink if you have too much of them.

For that small a room you should be looking in the 42" range. If you like to work your eyeballs a lot while watching TV a 50" should be good.

As for the TV thing, 72in.

Does that mean if people voted 61" you'd get a 52"?

you dont have enough room for the bigger sets. I hate to see such nice TVs hogging the entire room. Then you feel like youa re front row at a theatre and noone likes the front row.

It's not the size that counts, it's how you use it.

I would go with 50in, anything bigger is bad for quality and while it gives bragging rights it makes watching TV an exercise.

I got a 50" TV, 60" is just to expensive in Yurop :(. Don't let the size in showrooms fool you, once the TV is in your room it will look a lot bigger. Unless your McMansion is gigantic.

Ive seen the 72, 61, and 52 inch in operation. 2 of those are the Mitubishi right? I am guessing the 3rd is probably samsung.

They all looked fine for the shitty best buy set up, and if i had my choice i would probably get the 72 just cuase you know how big your next room is. And the general rule is bigger if you can afford it.

See if you can find a place that has them on display and try to hook shit up that you want to look good on it.

Get a projector, round the same price and you can have it cover the entire wall.

Real life size porn is amazing, and when you want to watch an ultimate fighting match and the guys are like actually 6 feet tall on your wall, it's mind blowing stuff. All sports actually look awesome on it.

Best part is you can use it at a party or while having friends over and with the projector inside a solid outer case, you can get fucking blind drunk and when your mate throws his beer at the screen when his team loses - you just need a cloth and some cleaning stuff and you're good to go - rather than having a hole in your $2k lcd screen and killing him.

The size is fully adjustable, and the resolution (pixels per) is pretty close to an lcd, until you go right up to like 10 * 7 feet, then it loses its sharpness a little.

You can hook it up through your computer as well which is pretty interesting in some games, fps mostly. COD4 is pretty wild when you pump it up to life size.

Projectors ftw.

My wall > your tv screen.
