I've just recently tried the demo for Portal. (yes I know a year late, but still) Wow did it impress me; solid gameplay, jet black humour,a sense of creepiness and portal jumping!
The only thing that's stopping me from spending 10 quid (or considering The Orange Box) on it is that I heard the main game was rather short.
I'd love to hear that there's been some expansion maps made by someone,or something to extend the game experience after you finish the main game.
Also is there only 19 chambers like I saw in the demo?

Man portal would have so much potential as a multiplayer game put one portal and then blast it someplace else and you have the perfect escape route or place a trap in a door way and put it right next to a drop and the person runs through it and falls off :p

I'd say it's worth it. Get the entire Orange Box while you're at it. Pure quality there.
In Portal there's also the challenges(beating levels using x number of portals or least amount of steps taken etc.) that could last you a long time so long as you don't get the walkthroughs off youtube.

It's a masterpiece. Best 3 hours of my life spent on a game. I hope the second part lives up to the perfection of the first one.

It is short but it has great replay value. And there are some challenges that you unlock when you beat it.

HL2:Ep2 is good, almost what HL2 should have been (apart from the first chapter, it's boring).

Bleh tbh it's mainly so I can play TF2 and Portal, but I'll certainly give the two HL episodes a quick runthrough.
