View Full Version : alignment with an actual question unlike the other thread already about alignment

When you declare war with a clan, the members go grey right?
What if you are at a neutral city or a racial city and you spot an enemy clan member just going about his business, can you kill him with no guards, because he is already flagged grey so there is no alignment penalty.
just a question I felt warranted its own thread with a ridiculously long title.
Feel free to post your comments and concerns and critique of this idea and speculate to your hearts content.

It's probably breaking the city rules, even if he was your enemy. I'd guess guards will attack.

I have wondered about this as well, will guards in a neutral NPC city try to stop the battle to "keep the piece" inside town such as the Shakespeare feud between the Montague and the Capulet families?
I don't think the guards would interfere but I would not be completely shocked if they do.

Dunno really but i guess devs will enforce legality inside the racial capitals (just guessing)

since its a city i'd assume the guards would intervene. Its just like how our western governments don't allow immigrants to carry on wars in our streets (though i'm sure the immigrants left to escape these wars but you get the idea :P). If it'll be allowed, there'll be a war-dec fee i'd imagine.
Also on alignment, do you have to declare war for there to be no alignment penalties, or is hostile enough? I ask only because I assume most of us will quite a few clans as KoS but not be full-out sieging them. Would be nice to know theres a differentiation between siege-warfare and simply alignment-penalty-free harassment.

I can only assume you would be able to kill them on sight no matter where they were. At least that is how they have it in Eve Online, and it seemed to work out pretty well. If you werent able to kill them without people slaughtered by the guards then it would create a safe haven for people in war which kind of goes against the grain of darkfall.
also, do you think clans would be able to declare war on individuals? like if there is one person that isnt apart of a clan that is really pestering a clan but his alignment isnt bad enough to automatically be able to kill on sight, would that clan be able to declare war on that person, it would kind of be like putting a warrant out for his arrest. Id guess probably not just because then clans could just declare war on everyone but maybe they could design a system so it would work like maybe a clan can only declare war on 10 individuals or something, just an idea i thought up while reading.

If your clan is at war with theirs, whats the problem? You should be able to attack in large battles or individually, what difference does it make?

when a city hires guards, they tell the guards who to kill and who to allow. if you're at war with another guild, I'm guessing the guards will attack you on sight. I don't think alignment is even an issue in this case. The guards will do the job they're paid to do.

I think he's referring to a situation like a human clan being at war with another human clan and two of them start fighting in Sanguine. Not a human clan being at war with another human clan and one of them goes into the other's city.

Duh. I'm not surprised considering that that came from a 2000+ member; everyone at that stage just seem to have gotten there through constant +1s.
