Should DF have full-body nudity?

Age of Conan was a major letdown for many reasons (I'm not even going bother playing it because of the unintentional sexism). One of which was that the game was marketed to the Male Gaze. If I had a say in how AoC was made, I would have included full-body nudity for both males and females, simply because it is realistic.

Anyway, does anyone think Darkfall should have full-body nudity for all races and genders (none of that "only topless" crap)? I mean for example, given the circumstances, it's entirely realistic for Mahirim to run naked across the plains, or Elves to dart gaily through the trees mostly naked. Culture and temperature are all factors.

Need I remind you that many ancient cultures, like Egyptians, Mayans, Greeks, etc. many people often walked around nude or half-nude? It was a stylistic preference because they didn't view the human body as sinful.

It would be entirely appropriate in a game about BARBARIANS living in a HOT CLIMATE.

And just because there will be nudity does not mean there will be rampant sex. Hasn't anyone here been to Australia, Africa, Indonesia, South America, or even a nude beach? Some of the native peoples (at least the ones not corrupted by missionaries) often walk around nude due to the hot climate, and they don't at all engage in rampant orgies.

The issue is not that video games should not have nudity. The issue is that DarkFall should not have nudity. This is a combat game. The entire backbone of the game is combat and fighting so violence pretty much has to be there. Having nudity just for the sake of having nudity is stupid. Take your example of AoC. How did nudity further the game experience. They just wanted to put "Nudity" on that M-rated ESRB logo to get the kiddies interested.

If you want nudity in your video games, go get some Eroge. There is a ton of Hentai games out there that should satisfy your need for nudity in games.

There's generally a reason for nudity in movies, like some people are meeting in a shady strip club or there's a love scene between two characters. Sometimes these reasons are even good enough to make it into video games (Duke Nuke'em or Mass Effect) however there's no reason for nudity to be in an MMO.

Because it lacks reason, nudity just becomes some stupid little gimmick much like it was for AoC.

Americans have tabooed sex as something not advertised publicly. Though more often Europeans see sex as just a part of life, whilst Americans see it as some forbidden art of sorts--not to be discussed or mentioned in society.

I couldn't agree more, but the American populus does not accept nudity in activites where children are envolved or partake in. They've deemed sex for "grown-ups only" and seem to think that shielding children from sex will help them later in life. Europeans are more accepting of such things, but I don't think that even they'd like the idea of their child being able to play a game where he can see a naked woman.
