AoC is just a circus act of fail, lol. As if it's reputation wasn't bad enough, this happens.
Norwegian web site Itavisen [translated] says it has confirmation from Funcom product manager Erling Ellingsen that the GM in question was fired for unacceptable conduct. "We are aware of this matter, and necessary measures have been taken against them," Ellingsen said. "We have clear guidelines for all employees in Funcom, not least those who work with customer service, and if the guidelines are broken leads to the consequences."
Imagine getting called into the boss's office and have this broken to you, "Ya, we're firing you, and this is all over teh intartrucks".

That reminds me of a time I tried to do this to someone on WoW, to have "it" admit it was a guy in real life. "She" claimed "she" played a male character on WoW for the same reason as the guy tricking the GM did. Sooo, I made a girl character, and pushed all of "her" buttons. I thought I had her after (extremely light, it was way too awkward O_o) cyb0rz, (I was roflmao'ing, of course), but in the end, it turned out it was really a girl. >.o We ended up having a 9 month long relationship. Funny how things work out, huh?
