Does the room have alot of electronics in it? Try using an extension chord to another room to see it you're overloading the breaker.

Ya, that PSU sounds faulty if it's making a funky sound and then tripping the breaker. I take it this started happening recently? If so, I'd say faulty PSU.

Warranty ftw, although I'd test it out at a friends house or somewhere just to be sure it isn't ur psu.

Make sure the lil red switch is at 230 or 115. Depending on where you are.

If not, replace PSU.

If fails. Replace house.

there are no stupid questions..

also, i brought it in to a local computer place and it blew up their cord and broke their power bar, so im going to take that crazy time bomb of a psu in and get a new one

Yea your PSU is shorting out.

Keep it it will be useful if you want to fuck a power system up and possibly start a fire. This has been a tip from your friendly neighborhood arsonist. :D

Plug it into someones outside outlet and turn their house off.

Hahahahaha.

It sounds a lot like a faulty PSU. However it could be the house.

My house was built a very long time ago so the wiring is old and outdated. Sometimes when some demanding electronics turn on the lights will flicker. So test it somewhere else first just in case.

its been tested here, at the computer store where it blew up a cord and their power bar, and it has been returned, got the same one and going to see if its not faulty

Holy shit, I need to start mass ordering PSUs until I find another one like this. Then I can go to a friend's house on Halloween/Friday the 13th...XD

Actually, does anyone have any ideas as to the specific defect within the PSU?
