Seems like they snuck in a few new screenshots under our noses, as well as the addition of some of the previous IGN peek's screens.

You can view them on the gallery page here http://www.darkfallonline.com/gallery/view...ame=screenshots (http://www.darkfallonline.com/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=screenshots )

Or the 4 new screenshots directly, at the following links.

Mmmm, there is so much space! It looks beautiful. The sky is amazing and looks rather realistic. Water is nice and shiny, too.

The trees look a little scratchy, but what are you gonna do? The fact that you can make out branches and individual leaves is great. Excellent work.

Now, about those elven tree house pictues...

the scale of the buildings seems weird to me. The shots I saw from inside a house looked big, yet from outside they seem somewhat small. The shot from up in the tree looked pretty nice. I'm assuming that a player climber up into the tree, although most of the shots lately seem like a freecam.

Some observations. The brown dirt area, in 2 of the screenshots kind of looks like a farmer's field. Is this what "fertile" land will look like? Is this how farming will be done? Maybe you'll have to locate fertile land in which to do your farming? It could just be for looks, but there could be more to it. It would certainly be a good way to make "farm land" more of a static resource that needs to be protected, just like the stone quarry of Trinwood. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it, but I like the possibilities.

We're also seeing a much closer look at the shop signs that were shown at a distance in some of the previous week's screenshots. Obviously this town is pre-created, but just having signs available in the game to begin with, is a good indication that player cities & individual shops may also have the same luxury. Hopefully there will be an ample variety of sign graphics to choose from and/or some text templates for personalizing our own shop's signs.

I also noticed the clever placement of the outdoor tables & chairs. There is nothing blocking their view to the dock and there are no tables & chairs in other locations(that we can see) that would have an obstructed view either. This is very nice for players that may be heavily into things like trading & travelling, as they can sit outside the pub, enjoy their drink and maybe some conversation, all while keeping an eye out for the arrival of any important ships they may be waiting for. Some may consider things like that too "roleplay" or "carebearish", which I'm neither of, but I do think that little things like that make the game more like the virtual world that MMORPGs should be.

I love the table and chairs. It really gives the town a sort of live feeling to it. Like someone lives there.

Looks like a place I'd like to hang out, outside that bar I mean. The whole bit looks pretty good. Curious to see what a whole forest of those trees will look like.

As always it`s nice to have some new screenshots, and What is there to say
besides "Wow", I really like the way the towns and houses look
(especially the 3rd screenshot). And that 4th screenshot looks like there, will be a nice cousy
atmosphere in the town.

Best to thank Tasos & RW, not me. I just happened to check the gallery page before going to sleep and saw the new shots. I really like the middle of the week updates though. We see 4 shots of a new area at IGN, then later in the week, we see additional shots of that area. I hope they continue doing that.

I'm unimpressed with the graphics of Darkfall at this point. The water effects are nice, though. I'm also not one to care a lick about graphics... but what I've always admired is subtlety. And that cheese sure did hit the spot for me. Whoever's doin' the graphics in Darkfall best not forget about the more artfully subtle aspects of the world.

That said, I think the graphics of Darkfall are good enough. I wouldn't care if it looked like Wolfenstein 3D... but the only "cutting-edge" kinda stuff I see there are the water effects, and if you're trying to pull people in with graphics, it's gonna be stuff like that to do it. That, and cheese wheels placed throughout the world.

graphics are nice, good feel of not too cartoonish and not too dark as to the point of being "poserish", so long as the game had very good controls and gameplay then it shouldnt matter much really

Those pics are pretty good, but the dragons look like some kind of cruel evolutionary joke. nothing as mean as a dragon has a face that stupid looking. god damnit we live in a world where 3d texturing can make a face looks realistic, heres some ideas from people who can draw better than me

It's because they updated the website. The older pictures can still be found at a fansite located at www.darkfallchronicles.com. I'm not aware of any other places that have them all.
