Meh, that's not all American beer. It's a shame though, Budweiser was always the best cheap keg beer.

Hopefully they don't screw with it.

Heh, fair enough.

You know America had some of the best beers in the world back in the day.. then prohibition rolled around.. and now all we have is pisswater, yuengling, and Sam Adams.

If someone comes and offers you 52 billion dollars for your company, how many people would say no thanks.

Think about it guys, 52 billion dollars. that is 52,000,000,000.

Yuengling is a great beer! But my favorite beer is Fat Tire, but I cant get it in NJ ;(

Blue Moon is yummy too!

I dont care what Anheuser-Busch does with thier crap beer. Its only good because its cheap and you can get drunk from it, lol.

This is a good thing, InBev will not mess with the beer or its cost to the consumer. Instead they will do what they are famous for, restructure the company to be efficient. The Busch family has run the Co. as a family cartel for decades. All of the best earning distributorships go to family or people connected to the family. These people then do all sorts of shady stuff to crush the non family distributors in their areas.

Yes I would probably sell my left arm for 52 billion dollars.

52 billion dollars is a lot of money. Just to help put it in perspective, 52 billion seconds ago the date was Aug 1st 360 AD.

All this means is less jobs for Americans and alot less people drinking those products because of it. Most of the products under purchase here are working class items. The working class is pretty good at boycotting offshore takeovers and especialy when a company tries to de-unionise.

Anheuser-Busch has been producing swill, bile and sewage for years. They only mildly scored high with a few Michelob varieties such as Amber Bock and Honey Lager.

Anheuser-Busch is the company that unleashed Natural Light on an unsuspecting public and for that there is no forgiveness.

Also the other big American breweries, such as Miller and Coors have shit for product as well.

try Budweiser - Budvar

It is the actual Budweiser beer that Bud stole their name from and why Budweiser is advertised as Bud instead of Budweiser anywhere outside of NA. (Actually outside of NA if you see a beer called Budweiser it is a Czech beer and not the American one).

It is the actual Budweiser beer that Bud stole their name from and why Budweiser is advertised as Bud instead of Budweiser anywhere outside of NA. (Actually outside of NA if you see a beer called Budweiser it is a Czech beer and not the American one).

In 1895, Czech brewers followed, founding the brewery called Budějovický Budvar.

In 1876, an Italian immigrant started to brew and sell a brand of beer he called "Budweiser Beer" in the United States.

Because of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) Convention, geographic names like Budweiser are protected and, therefore, in many countries, Anheuser-Busch has to market its beer under various other trademarks, such as "Anheuser-Busch Bud".

It's not because one was first, it's because Europe decided one day that anything that derived in Europe belongs to them only and fuck their former colonies and citizens that carried on traditions in the New World.

Related: In the European Union, "Parmesan" is a protected designation of origin; legally, it refers exclusively to the Parmigiano-Reggiano DOP cheese manufactured in a limited area in Northern Italy. Outside Europe, most notably in the United States, similar cheeses may be sold under the name Parmesan, considered generic. When they are sold in Europe, they must use another name, such as Kraft's "pamesello italiano".

quoting wikipedia on this

The original Budweiser Bier or Budweiser Bürgerbräu, had been founded in 1795 in Budweis, Bohemia, Holy Roman Empire and had started exports to the US in 1871[2] resp. 1875 [3]. In the U.S., Anheuser-Busch started using the Budweiser brand in 1876 and registered it two years later.

In Budweis, the new company (now named Budvar) was established in 1895 by mainly Czech brewers, which also started exporting beer with the adjective Budweiser ("Budějovický" in Czech). This led to the Budweiser trademark dispute. Negotiations between the three companies, the two from the original town and the American Anheuser-Busch, about using "Budweiser" reached an agreement in 1911 that allowed Anheuser-Busch to use the brand "Budweiser" only in North America.[4]

Budweiser beer was first brewed in the late 1700s, was imported to the US at the start of the 1870s.

mind you in my first post, I was mentioning the 3rd Budwesier beer brand.
