So, Almost three years ago, I got my first PC, and I had to find out the hard way, Alienware rips you off. Almost $1700 for a PC that was obselete as soon as it got here. Anyway, I upgraded the PC throughout the years, getting a new Sound card, Graphics card, RAM, and a new processor. The motherboard is actually really old these days, and I'm thinking about selling.

I want your advice. About how much should I sell it for, and where should I go next to buy a PC. I've been looking at http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ and they seem to have good deals, a good warrenty, and mainly good reviews. Its a custom build site, where you pick out the specs/parts you want for your computer, and they build it for you. Looks good to me.

Now, If I want a new computer, I need to sell the current one I have now. I need a rough estimation of a price to ask. Here's the rough specs of the computer.

Full Tower Case, roughly 22x22
ASUS A8N-SLI BASIC NFORCE4 MB. Mobo
An Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+. Regular 1.8GHz, OC'd to 2.4, and it runs perfect.
2 gigs of G-Skill RAM. DDR400. 1024x2
Dual nVidia 6600GT's (Im taking out my 8600GTS)
650 Watt ATX2.0 Power Supply
Onboard sound card. 5.1 surround sound?

That should cover most of the stuff you need to know for a rough price estimation. Thanks in advance!

I figured start the bidding at $450 on eBay, and see where it went from there...

Whatever you do, select your own computer parts and build it yourself or have someone build it for you. Don't use Cyber Power, Alienware, or any other crappy 'custom build' site. You will receive more performance for less money spent.

Edit: $350

It's always cheaper to select parts and build or have someone build for you than to buy off of a middle-man site like that.

Also, 350 sounds like a good starting price for what you have.

You're kidding right?

$60 for case and PSU
$100 for CPU
$80 for RAM
$80 for a 8600
$80 for a HDD
Total: $400

That computers worth $200 tops. You might be able to sucker some idiot with it though so hell, shoot for $400.

You'll be lucky if you can get $200 for it with that CPU and those graphics cards.

You should build your next PC yourself. You'll have a huge amount of parts to choose from, as opposed to the extremely limited selection you get when "composing" a custom PC at a store.

Why are you taking out your 8600GTS? Don't use it for your next PC, it sucks. This PC will be worth more with an 8600GTS.

The CPU costs more like $40 now. Assuming you can still find it for sale. It's a socket 939 CPU, which means no upgrade path, which means it's worth much less money.

lol @ ludicrous custom comp epeen stroking, which is to say the majority of this thread...

Anyway, best buy sells equivalents of that comp for about $400, so I'd say low $300 range to start bidding on ebay.
