I've been trying the free ones for a while now, since Final Fantasy XII (yes I know it's not an MMORPG, but it is a RPG) was kind of a turn off.

Shadowbane - um... boring. I made about 6 levels before deciding to quit.

9Dragons - interesting idea, bad implementation. It had kung fu, but lacked action from the gameplay's perspective. I mean, seeing all kinds of fabulous hits with the weapons is fun and all... for a while. Then I realized I'd rather watch a movie. Although, now that I think about it, you could catch some moves just watching your character doing them (because that's what you're doing most of the time in that game).

Dekaron - WTF? Crap! And that's too many words for that game.

Shayia - back when it was in closed (or open?) beta. It looked like a Lineage 2 clone, only less interesting.

Zu Online - I liked the graphics, hated the gameplay. I still wonder why it's called the most popular Asian game. It sux.

I'm thinking of trying World of Kung Fu, and Metin 2. :bang:
Did anyone play any of these last two?

Better idea : get out of your basement and get laid while waiting for DF.

Exteel ( http://www.exteel.com ) is pretty good for a F2P.

Of course there are people that pay for good armor and weapons, but all the top gear can be bought with the credits you get when fighting. I like that you can combine the different types of weapons in any way you like and there will be a skill for that combination. (All skills can be bought with in-game currency too) and there is a good number of different armor parts.

The game is mainly based around PvP with the classic modes - DM, Team DM, CTF and Territory Control. The "PvE" is the Last Stand mode in which you and 7 other players have to slaughter hordes of robots (quite irritating since the lag kicked in)

The only problem is the last patch, which added clans, a clan ranking system and a big increase in lag for most players. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I actually played Exteel too. Got bored with it after a while.
Signed up for Jumpgate Evolution closed beta. Hoping to get an invitation... :ohno:
