So I never post in OT but I figured that maybe someone in here knows something about computers :P
So I just got a brand new HD Camcorder but in order to copy the video to my computer I need a firewire port... which my computer doesn't have (for some reason I guess I didn't order it with one...)
No problem right? I went to the store and picked up a 3 port firewire card, I didn't need 3 but it's all they had.
I pop open my tower, throw it in there, boot up the computer... it turns off mid way through the boot. wtf?
I turn it back on, it only stays on for a few seconds.
Do it again and it barely stays on for a second.
Again and it doesn't do anything. wtf x 10.
Whatever, I just took the card out. Made sure everything was connected, started my baby up... and stopped half way through the boot.
So now my computer is sitting there with it's guts hanging out and I can't figure out what is wrong. I JUST replacd my power supply a couple months ago and when I boot it up everything looks perfectly normal, all the fans spin, the lights come on, my monitor turns on, but it won't stay on for more than about 20 seconds tops...
I'm really not sure what all the specific specs are, it runs windows and its got a year old graphics card.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do to just make it work? I could care less about the firewire at this point...
