Alright Forumfall, since we're all armchair omniscients here I'd like to call on your wisdom for advice on my first car purchase.

Criteria:

- Not too expensive. I don't shit money yet. So no sports cars or even Volvo's please.

- Doesn't slurp up gas like mad. So no hummers or range rovers either (those are above my price category anyway)

- Looks decent

- Hatchback trunk with plenty room, I need to transport my synthesizer and amps and stuff in there and preferably some passengers too

- No mini cooper. Just no. Fuck off. I don't want a motherfucking mini, no matter how much the chicks dig it. Seriously.

- Has plenty of modern conveniences so if you were planning to post pictures of a 1955 Citroën, forget it.

- No obscure American brands since those aren't widely available here.

That's about it. There's plenty of cars that fit those criteria, I just can't pick which one. Now it's up to you, Forumfall. Give me your best shot.

You plan to do a lot of mileage? If you will buy a Diesel if not regular "naft" :)

Stick to a german, french or japanese brand if you value low risque/sturdiness.

Yes Gunther, and yeah I was thinking along that route already, I just need some concrete brands and models you'd recommend.

And Hexo I did say plenty of room and decent looks.

Just buy a motorocycle

Yeah I'll just throw the 4' flight case in my huge motorcycle trunk.

Whats your price range? Not to expensive is really broad. That could mean anything from 3 or 4k for a used car, to 10 or 20k for a new car.

Without knowing I'll just say that I like Pontiacs.

Opel Astra, Renault Clio, Toyota Corolla, Renault mégane, Citroën saxo, Volkswagen golf, Peugeot 206 or 207, Toyota yaris, ...

Those pop into my mind right away are are all decent cars to start with.

If you are one of those belgian Ford sympathizers the Ford Mondeo might be nice since they are build here ;)

I got my 2006 Hyundai Tiburon (Used, but only 8000 miles) for about $11,500. It's a great car.

The 4 Cylinder gets about 33 MPG, but it accelerates slowly. It's got the same engine as an Elantra, but a better looking body and it's lower to the ground.

Pontiac would be a very bad choice here. Hard to get parts of it and there aren't many around so the second hands are either expensive or total garbage.

Anyway I remember my gf's first car which was a Renault Clio for 500 euro. She totaled the car within a week, so it was a good first car tbh HAHAHA

Imagine if she got something more expensive rofl.

Never buy a new car if you need to loan for it.

Basic advice to all. Never do a loan for something that's not an investment. A car is for most people not an investment!!!

It would be totally retarded for Mordhak to buy a new car, unless he has too much cash perhaps, which i don't think most people have here.

They are supposed to make about 10,000 in 2009, and tens of thousands more every year there after. (assuming people buy them)

You plug them in to a power outlet, and they'll drive the first 40 (uh, either minutes, or miles) on that power. After that the ethanol engine kicks in, which just powers the battery not the drive train. They estimate about 140 MPG when running off ethanol.

Completely ugly car. People have no taste in cars these days.

This is better, Detomaso Pantera:

Anyways if your serious, post your price range. Two door cars will be more insurance. In my experience of having no mechanical background whatsoever Japanese cars get the job done. Subarus in particular are sort of nice because they usually come in all wheel drive. They also make a few four door wagons that are nice and compact and still all wheel drive.

This is about as irrelevant as it gets imo, it's supposed to be a penis extension, not a fucking handbag.

First of all, fuck mileage, a car that uses alot of gasoline reflects a driver that drops huge loads down a womans throat.

Secondly, a small car will give the impression you have a small penis, if you do, lol, if not, why the fuck would you get a car that might give her the wrong impression?

Third, you are proud of your penis. If you could, you would make a statue of your penis and have it in your livingroom. Don't get a car you can't imagine having in your livingroom. It has to correlate with your relationship to your penis.

Ideally you want a Lamborghini murcielago or reventon, if that isn't doable, try to get hold of a used, but recent Audi A3 or something.

Most flawed logic ever.

Guys with small cars are actually seen as types that don't need to compensate their shitty/dumb character, ugly physique and small cock with a fast or big car.

Nissan Versa - cheap, hatchback, surprising amount of storage considering its size.
Cons: Not that good looking, seriously under powered. Get the 6 speed manual the CVT automatic with that little buzzy engine is just awful.

I just retired my Pontiac Firebird with 251000 thousand miles on it (that's approx. the distance to the moon).

The 3.1 v6 engines are good...I just traded for a newer 3.1 Grand Am GT ($2600). I should get 100k miles out of it without much trouble it has 123k now.

Brand New cars are a bad investment unless you are just extremely rich and 20k is pocket change. It's better to drive a cheap car and invest what you save upgrading your house.
