AOC Update

I was over at a friends house today, and this post on the forums summed up AOC for me.

"I hit 80 and now there doesnt seem much left to do.

If I was in a guild I could run around and gather resources for hours.

There is not a whole lot to do at 80 in this game, and as far as quest progression goes, as far as I can tell... there isnt much there at all."

The rest of the AOC forums are hammered with spam topics, about how the community feels cheated and ripped off by Funcom. Basically, nothing works, and their is no reason to level a character besides doing quests with friends. PvP seems to be so unbalanced, and rangers one shot people. Kinda sad, but not unexpected...

Little overdramatic, there are some issues with the game but nothing life threatening. And to funcoms defense they have responded to a decent amount of complaints even though their wait time for a GM is horrid.


Really the doom and gloom crowd with aoc need to really quit it, they are jumping on every little complaint to try and prove some piont that the game is going to smash on its face.

i think that we should support the doom and gloom crowd.. the more negative the world becomes about games like AoC the better chance good games will be made..

Nope, from what I saw leveling seems pretty easy, and not too much of a grind. I guess their is some grind from 50-65, lack of quests and content. Most level 80 characters already probably play 8+ hours a day. I liked the look of the blood and fatalities, but the combo system is so slow. Some combos take forever to execute, and it really kills the pvp experience for me. Also, while you're waiting for you combo to execute(some taking 2 secs) you can't move. This feature turned me off big time, and made me wonder why my friend keeps playing. With lack of content,boring pvp combo system, and no reason to level to 80, makes me wonder how many people cancel after just one month?

Also to Darkfall dev's I say this. Please put out a quality game, the gaming community is so desperate for a game like Darkfall.

Due to some exploits, some people managed to get lvl 80 in 25 hours.

I would not take the opinion of a guildless level 80 seriously. Sounds like maybe he should play a single player RPG instead of MMORPG.

Guild play is a HUGE part of AoC. Without it, the game isn't terribly enjoyable.

That's what some people are doing on Forumfall and will continue to do once Darkfall is released. Doom and gloom can be found anywhere really. They need to go play in traffic.

I swear to god these kids have nothing to do these days.. maxing out the levels already...

and don't say " oh its easy" etc, even still for NORMAL people with NORMAL lives.. thats insane.

levels are a thing of the past... the dinosaurs of mmorpgs.. they should not be used.
