View Full Version : Semen in chicken eggs

I bet that title sounded interesting.

Anyway, for some reason there's a small bit of thick white stuff in chicken eggs. You can see it when you crack it open. It's like semen, but a bit thicker. It kinda freaks me out so I always remove it before baking an egg.

Wtf is that shit?

I guess its the thing that could be a future foetus, but i could be wrong if you bought it from an industrial brand (they don't have cocks over there, only female chicken)

The egg white?

lol, Thats what i was going to say.

The egg white?

No, it's only a little. A teaspoon, usually less. It's different from the egg white and the egg yolk.

Leathlord

It's the chicken. That white thing grows into the chicken the rest is just the stuff is absorbs.

Then what the hell's the yolk?

I know what you're talking about, OP. The clear stuff that you can never get onto a spoon.

I have had an egg before that for whatever reason has been fertilised and has the begining of a chicken growing in it. That put me off eggs for ages Because after i ate it so became the legend of killerchicken.

I think its the Germinal Disk. Wiki told me so.

No, it's not clear. It's white even before you cook or bake it. The egg yolk is the yellow stuff. The egg white is the clear stuff.

I think its the Germinal Disk. Wiki told me so.

The germinal disk is located in the egg yolk. The stuff I'm talking about is in the egg white. I think it may be chalaza.

I used to struggle to pull it out, but it isn't worth the effort, especially when multiple eggs are used.

yeah its useless, if you cook it the stuff is killed right away anyway

If there is no rooster, will there be chickens?

I always bake 4 eggs at a time, but I still pull it out. It scares me.

You know if you really think about it, eggs are basically just chicken periods. Yummy chicken menstruation.

Yup

Basically its nutrition for the growing chick. Food, though I don't know if the chick "eats it" or "absorbs" it or how that works.

Coward, you're afraid of dead things !

I don't like the thought of cooking and eating something that closely resembles the second load of semen when you ejaculate twice within like half an hour.

Yup

Actually, it's just something that keeps the egg yolk in place. It's not an embryo. I'm pretty sure it's chalaza.

Eskareon

Chalaza
Ropey strands of egg white which anchor the yolk in place in the center of the thick white. They are neither imperfections nor beginning embryos.

The more prominent the chalazae, the fresher the egg. Chalazae do not interfere with the cooking or beating of the white and need not be removed, although some cooks like to strain them from stirred custard.

You are eating aborted chickens when you eat eggs. Repent! God hates abortions and eating an abortion is even worse. You're all going to burn in hell!

I'm not a picky pansy bitch who feels freaked out by some little bit of veins in his food. So I've never dissected my breakfast.

Hell if the was a little chicken in there I would consider it an early portioning of lunch.

Its almost a charity. If it wasn't so horrible when put like that, i'd almost maybe actively try and do it.

Alton Brown of Food Network tells me it is the holster for the eggyolk that keeps it from hitting the shell and that if your eggs have them they are old eggs.

You also are scared of soap...

I'm really not trying to be insulting, but grow a pair. its just an egg. I wouldn't want to be around you if you found a hair in your soup.

anyway, i'm not sure what it is. I am familiar with what you are talking about, but i'm pretty sure its not semen. as long as its cooked, there should be no reason to freak out.

Wtf is that shit?

I learned to deal with this shit, I always flip my eggs for just a few seconds to kill the sperm.

when i boil the eggs i always make them semi consistant, the salty sperm is just over the top

raw eggs, fuck that shit

I think the OP needs to stop being a pussy and eat the eggs. There is far worse in any processed foods that he eats from the store than whats in a freaking egg.

You wont eat ever again. (http://www.sixwise.com/newsletters/05/06/29/how_many_insect_parts_and_rodent_hairs_a re_allowed_in_your_food.htm)

The chicken eggs we buy are unfertilized, so it's not an aborted baby chicken fetus. It's like someone else said, we're eating a chicken's period.
