For those intersted. Ignore the first 4 images on the "media" page link, because they are incorrect and will hopefully be fixed soon.

It's cool to see that other races than humans will use their own brand of castles. I especially like how it talks of raising the ground before building the castle, as I've been interested in how positioning will affect sieges.

That's a pretty steep incline to be getting up in the front of that keep.

They're actually more developed than I'd expected mahirim structures would be. They look very, very nice, though. I like the low stone walls around the house; it's a neat architectural touch.

My appetite for screenshots and renderings is insatiable. We need more!

:D

They may choose not to inform the public about closed beta. If you were a game designer trying to get your game ready, would you want 5.000 people clamoring to get into beta, when it's closed?
I'm just guessing but... think they wont say much about beta until they are darn near ready to open it and stress test the servers...

A nice but short read. Interesting structures!!

I'm also curious about beta, but when beta starts, I'm sure we'll know it!!

I hope this doesn't mean Mahirim info will be released sooner than the mirdain, still the building looks sweet enough

Let me get this straight you m ean they announced to the public closed beta coming this month and the beta links will be working for poeple to send in their aplications yet they wouldn't do any of this and start beta in secret behind the members back and lie to the public? This wouldn't be a smart move since they would lose trust amungst the community, and if I was part of the dev team (for what ever game) I would most probably hand pick the testers for closed beta since it wont be many.

Very nice work. Exactly what I would have expected.

Ok well I am gonna be a critic.First off the ground is very bland. It looks like wall paper. The Forts logs look flat.in the close up picture you actually see them curve.

Basically What I want to say here is that these graphics are on par with the orignal EQ graphics.

Closed beta's usually dont get "applicants." Thats why its closed. Open beta doesnt mean everyone gets to try, open beta is when the application process starts.

There is more than one stage of beta. Initail closed beta will probably come from those that have been on the boards the longest but who have tried to help the most.

It's amazing how every thread, no matter the topic, gets turned into a beta thread lately. :(

I love the Mahirim long houses. The fort itself is nice too, but there are some issues.

I don't know why, but it appears the fort has no gate. It would be preferable to have a working gate at the fort entrance - common sense.

I'm unsure why the hill has those log posts too. My guess would be that it's part of the support structure for the hill itself, but I don't know. It looks awkward to me.

The wooden walls look very fragile. I'm sure they're indestructible, like in a typical FPS, but it seems very "Doom hallway" like to me. Seems like the Mahirim architecture could be more organic looking. The fort looks pretty good, but the walls look too much like the lego blocks they probably are.

I also question the viability of such a fort. I

The mahirim prefer single-storied wooden buildings with sloping roofs, covered in grassy thatch or wooden tiles.

I hope these roofs don't catch on fire too easy  or we could see a lot mahirim fur burning.

As always the screenshots look beautiful, i especially liked the watch tower, with what looks like a god symbol or something. Can`t wait to see more screenshots, you have really been feeding us here the last couple of weeks.

Personally the thing that caught me most was the clouds. We've seen structure models in previos sneak peaks, but we've never been able to see an in game screenshot with the sky. That cloud looks practically real. If the rest of the environmental graphics are the same, its going to be very easy to immerse myself into it.

I would hope the next ingame peek will be a bit more detailed and revealing then week 6's
