( A Mahirim's guide to multi cultural civilization; )

LEASH:
A strap which attaches to your collar, enabling you to lead your
person where you want him/her to go.

MAHIRIM BED:
Any soft, clean surface, such as the white bedspread
in the guest room or the newly upholstered couch in the living room.

DROOL (emote ):
A liquid which, when combined with sad eyes, forces others
to give you their food. To do this properly you must sit as close
as you can and get the drool on the target food provider.

CROTCH SNIFF (emote) :
A social custom used to greet other Mahirims,
similar to the human exchange of business cards.

GARBAGE CAN:
A container which your neighbors put out once a week
to test your ingenuity. You must stand on your hind legs and try
to push the lid off with your nose.
If you do it right you are rewarded with margarine wrappers to shred,
beef bones to consume and moldy crusts of bread.

WHEELED MACHINES:
four-wheeled wagons and carts, invented for Mahirims to control body fat.
To get maximum aerobic benefit, you must hide behind a bush and dash out,
bark loudly and run alongside for a few yards.
The person then swerves and falls into the bushes, and you prance away.

DEAFNESS:
This is a malady which affects Mahirims when their person wants
them indoors and they want to stay out. Symptoms include staring blankly
at the person, then running in the opposite direction, or lying down.

THUNDER:
This is a signal that the world is coming to an end.
other races remain amazingly calm during thunderstorms,oblivious to the impending doom,
so it is necessary to warn them of the danger by trembling uncontrollably, panting,
rolling your eyes wildly, and following at centimeters from their heels.

WASTEBASKET:
This is a Mahirim toy filled with paper, envelopes,
and old candy wrappers. It is important to evenly distribute its
contents throughout the hut before your person comes home.

BATH :
If you find something especially good to roll in, others get jealous,
and they use this degrading form of torture to get even. Be sure to shake only
when next to a person or a piece of furniture.

LEAN:
This is every good Mahirim's response to the command "sit!,"
especially if your person is dressed for an evening out.
Incredibly effective before black-tie events and with silk.

BUMP:
The best way to get your person's attention when they are drinking
a fresh cup of coffee, tea, or Ale.

GOOSE BUMP (emote ):
A maneuver to use as a last resort when the regular bump
doesn't get the attention you require ... especially effective when combined with the crotch sniff. See above.

DWARVES:
Short kind of talking 4ft rock persons of optimal petting height.
Standing close to one assures some good petting. When running,
they are good to chase. If they fall down, they are comfortable to sit on.

LOVE (emote):
A feeling of intense affection, given freely and without restriction.
The best way you can show your love is to wag your tail and bark.
( Leg humping is frowned upon by most Miridain and Humans. )

Act of moving fast by utilising one's legs, mahirim have evolved to be extremely good at this due to the constant running away from the glorious crusaders of Melek.

TAIL
A bodypart that has disappeared from the mahirim due to the fact that the members with this bodypart were easily captured by the Alfar. This was due to it's shape and form, which allowed an excellent grip that prevented the cowardly mahirims from running away.

This is what most Alfar think Mahirim players are in real life. That's ok,the Alfar need petty stereotypes to think they are somehow 'better' than the SUPERIOR race of Darkfall.

Dog Whistle: Scares off all Mahirim within a 100 yard radius.


If they keep coming back..

Rolled up Newspaper +1 : The meer sight of this causes the Mahirim to cower and flee.


And lastly, for the really persistant ones..

Anti-Freeze Soaked Dog Food: Simply leave it out overnight, come out in morning, and loot the dumb brutes.

So, as you see the word has a few definitions. Historically in all
<strike>animal breeding</strike> vassal nurturing there was no way to improve your stock <strike>of meat Puppets</strike> of vassals if inferior <strike>animals</strike> members were left to contaminate the more superior stock.

It was a harder world and whole litters were sometimes destroyed
because of an accidental entry into DarkFall, mental deformities,
or a template that just did not turn out the way planned.
More commonly Culling was used to reduce the size of a litter
of noobies and remove the weak and unwanted pups.

Culling is usually done very soon after birth.
Today culling is still sometimes used to reduce <strike>litter</strike>
spawn size; ...many people feel that a <strike>litter</strike>
newbie spawn should be no larger than six or seven per week,
for the good of DarkFall.

Culling is used to remove the weak, unhealthy or deformed newbie
from a new spawn-litter. As in nature, Sometimes a mother will reject
a pup herself; she will push weak pups from her and they will chill and die.
It is a myth that "DeVz" are the only ones doing this.
They are just the only ones that have owned up to it most of the time.

Pups separated this way should be humanly euthanized by
an experienced excutioner. Today there are more choices for monarchs.
Now there are limited registrations to guild access, And of course
contracts with enforceable spay or neutering of vassals.

These may seem harsh for entry requirements into a guild,
but consider the alternative >>> ...o.0... pk-lite anyone.?

Monarchs can place more vassals as pets, with a clearer conscience.
New monarchs must keep in close contact with their new pet vassal.
Vassal buyers to ensure that they adhere to the contract, are watch closely
by the DeVz...

So, another way to cull a litter of newbies is with limited guild entry
and spay or neuter agreements.
This pragmatically removes the <strike>DOG</strike> noobie from
allegences and provides a healthy pet vassal
to a <strike>vassal whore</strike> monarch.

Now to the sticky problem of Quality <strike>meat puppets</strike> vassals.
Things come down to choices;
Whether to be involved in screening vassals at all;
What to do with the huge number (and responsibility) for
many pet vassals; And, what to do about the question of
responsibility for gimpy vassals. An ethical vassal breeder is
responsible for all of the vassal pups produced for the rest of their lives.

That is why placement for any vassal pup is so important.
A pup with a challenge,like deafness, really needs a special family environment.
If the newbie vassal has no brains in its head, you can bet it has some disability.

It is most likely deaf and sometimes also blind, or prone to later mental blindness.
This is not a genetic defect, it is a congenital defect that is related to Xbox or Ps2.
The only way to test common sense is a fairly expensive neurological test that
can only be performed by professionally trained "EVIL-Bastards".

Most breeders form a very strong bond with their vassals and putting down
a vassal at any age is hard, but putting one down at four weeks, when you
have spent nearly every waking hour with it, is nearly impossible.
AT Eleador, they understand this, and that is why they offer a special
service to all guild monarchs, to professionally put down your problem,
vassals. a mere 10,000 gold.

I don’t know how many quality homes there are out there,
but I suspect that there are fewer than there are quality vassals So,
culling (euthanizing) of vassals continues to go on as a fact of life in DarkFall.
As my friend said to me, "Raising a vassal IS NOT FOR THE AVERAGE L00T-FARMER."

So, now with low cost spay and neuters, and sanctioned termination,
The Kingdom of Eleador can help to provide all responciple monarchs
with quality vassals. On Asheron call DarkTide, other Servers have
approached the problem of Vassals, by outlawing certain types of
color breeding within the armor color schemes.

Most ...o.0... would prefer to have choices in their vassal breeding
programs as to the colors bred
-- particularly since the --"Fashion vassal"--- has not been approved
for breeding by the DarkFall DeVz as of the time of this printing.

This is a problem that all monarchs will have to face at
sometime in their vassal breeding program.
So, before you decide to breed vassals, give this some thought.
