"On the borders of every kingdom there will be some NPC guards to protect the territory. How much control will the players have over them? Will their stance regarding other players only be determined by their race or are there other factors involved?"

Hmmm ... Gloomer ...
I see a new gaming slang word on the horizon.
"Watch out ... he's a Gloomer!"
"Aww crud ... I've been Gloomed."
"LOL! Ya'll got Gloomed!"

LOL!!! So true!!!
The mirdain are masters of diplomacy and subterfuge who - generally speaking - prefer manipulating from the shadows to getting their hands dirty.
Hmmmmm I think I just found my race. I've been thinking of playing an Assassin type that played alittle politics in the background. I can't wait for the lore to come out.

The mahirim are the tallest and most physically intimidating of Darkfall's races. They are fur-covered predators who inflict terrible damage with their natural attacks, and who run with the speed of a horse.
Great... the centaurs of Darkfall. Why can't everyone just go the same speed? :(

Mahirim will likely not have or need mounts, so being able to travel at the same speed as a mount, makes up for it. Even if the Mahirim weren't included in the game at all, everyone else still wouldn't be moving at the same speed. Each race's mounts will allow them to travel faster as well as speed increasing spells.
Which is exactly why the focus of the game really shouldn't be on building/conquering cities. Who's going to enjoy an "extremely hard, time consuming, expensive" process? This is why SB sucked, I just hope DF has enough other activities so that players who want to can avoid this whole aspect.
It does, don't worry, city building/sieging is just one option for players. You won't ever have to get involved in it if you don't want to.

I'm fairly certain that the Mahirim will have a problem making sharp turns at top speed.
Zig Zag, and you might just buy enough time to make an escape. That's my guess. :)

Hmm,
Wonder can 2 clans seige another clan at the same time? :)
Wonder will their gloomers fight it out?

I've been wondering about this also. You'd think that they could...with or without an alliance.

im guessing once the clanstone is vulnerable anyone can attack the buildings

Probably the most difficult bit of this trying to actually getting to and destroying the clanstone as its located in the centre on the city and the gloomer only gives you a limied time to attack it it short bursts. Anyone know how long this will be? I reckon it'll probably be open to attack between half an hour to two hours. I can just imagine the scene: Clan A's defence is finnalybroken and Clan B start to pour through finnaly geting to the Clanstone. Just as they approach it- the gloomer stops neutralizing it and the clanstone and the buildings are once again protected giving defenders a chance to counter-attack

Oh, don't be a whiner, whistler ;)
Maybe all the races should be equally strong and never develop also? Equally proficient with magic, et cetera? And why can't everybody just be friends and hold hands? Wouldn't that be much nicer?
This means that the differences between the races will be more than cosmetic. Other races will no doubt have similar advantages, making each race a potential
