PKHQ has gone from its glory days, too an old fart that isnt fit for a retirement home.
UO 1998 =/= Darkfall 2008+
sorry about that didn't know if anyone has seen it yet I thought it was pretty interesting considering I was a member of PKHQ forums when it was up and a member of PKHQ in UO when Soul harvester was around I actually have his video when he left.

That interview was over 4 years ago. Alot can happen to a guild in that much time. I really don't recognize these guys like I've recognized LOD milling around.

i just finished watching the video. I liked it, but I doubt it would have much appeal to people who never played UO. My favroit time in UO was early on when people dident carry pots and poisons where rare and no one trained in healing because it sucked back then. I kills many many people with poisons.
I liked the screen shots of the orks, I dident know they played on great lakes too.
hopfully DFO will atract the Shadow (Blood) Clan Orks.
Originally the post was about DFO and drifted off.

8. We all know that there will be full loot in the game, but will you be able to allow looting rights to members of your group or guild should you die?
We have no such thing as 'looting rights' in Darkfall. If a character dies anyone can loot him, friend or foe. If you loot someone without their consent depending on the situation, you could take an alignment hit and you also could become a target for a short time.
Rofl we all know theres full loot in the game but he still has to ask about looting rights...in a full loot game (where anyone can loot anyone) interesting to me i should say. I feel like i have steel toe boots of +2 iq right now.

yup...
I quit when skill locks and arrows were patched in. I was on Siege, gave up everything and just left.
All the people that whine and cry about their games now, they are the same ones that did it to UO. I've been looking for a replacement ever since, this is it... it has to be or... :ohno:

not so...
I was GM tamer on Siege before they ever were put in (at least on Siege). I had a nightmare spawn also.
Nah I remember the day at my house outside destard on "Seige Perilous" when I saw my skills scroll. I freaked!

Man that's why I quit... I played a day or so more then just said screw it and cancelled my account. Before that they added meditation (but I was on Atlantic then with a GM scribe) That was the first blow, skill locks and arrows was the final straw.

The only neccesary manipulations in skills progression should be (in my mind) "behavior". Nothing artificial... you do it you gain, you don't do it it stays the same or over time you lose it. That's all you need...
But yeah I know why they did it... I heard the whines and it even happened to me (GM smithy). It needed a fix, but they broke it...

while I dont remember for sure when SP opend up I am sure it was after skill locks.
SP opend later in the game... well after T2A, I am thinking just before factions and such. Origionally it was sold as the RPing shard but later it was called the hard core shard.
edited* may be your right becuase I remember wondering what those portal stones where right before thay made tramell (fortunatly they did nothing on SP)
The locks were patched before SP opened up

It was so long ago the changes after each patch all seem to run together. I'm at least 90% sure that was when (and why) I quit. I can't imagine mistaking that point (where I was electra) because it was a shock to me.
I knew exactly what it meant (skill and stat manipulation and making GM in any skill 'trivial').
I was on Siege from day one, it was a hard core shard all the way, SCS and all difficulties notched up, with loot and cash reward notched down. It crashed a lot the first week, and they eventually did a wipe and restarted it.
That's what i remember...

okay im not crazy, I was all most ready to beleve that I had it backwards, Glad some one let me know I was correct.
p.s. I kind of miss the hero/evil system in UO other than the no loot for evil toons thing.

But were they patched on siege as well? Either that or I'm trippin in my memory... because when siege opened up that's the only server I played.
I was a long standing member of PK-hq for a long time, as MasterCraft.
Several board members were.
If only it was the original pk-hq and not such a horrible remake.
we can always put PKHQ back together but it just will never be the same with the real pks who started it and made it fun, PKHQ will never be the same. But i never played SP so I wouldn't know if it was or not I do know they were out before SP was

The only problem is he quotes his UO character as being 1996 - 2001
UO closed beta started in April of 97, and Uo was released on september 25th 97.

Good sirs;
I played the first 6 months of the GL shard 4 hours a day.
I never heard of PKHQ.
In fact I hear about vast numbers of PKs in lots of these games--but I went for weeks on end not seeing any in UO, shadowbane and even AC darktide. I am not picking on PKHQ here, but just the general myth that there are lots of PKs. To read these boards you would think DF is going to be a kill-fest, but it ain't gunna happen.
The average player is a calm, sedate, sociable guy--no matter what he posts here.

There is a considerable amount of PK's in everygame where PK'ing is possible, but thats just minority, so even in Darkfall I can say you can be relatively safe when you spot a member of the same race.

Agreed, with one proviso. The PK element is highly vocal on this pre-release board, but provided the DF publishers manage to do some semi-decent PR and entice even a small fraction of your average mmog playerbase to try the game... then DF will end up having a similar balance to the good old days of UO.
There will be plenty of guild v guild and race v race PvP, but PKs in 'safe' racial homelands will be a rare (and exciting) breed, as they should be.

I was on GL at server birth. but pk-hq didn't really spring up in force until after the first year (beta included)
Before PK-HQ, I rolled with bandit, hunter II, ho chi (not the faction moron, the original) - Smokey D bunny, few others. After, pk-hq for awhile, then solo until the end :(
Oh how I miss EVing the BK wall in deceit. *sigh*

After 5... no has it been 6 years(?), we may actually play this game! But damn. This is not a good month to just bust out with beta. And we don't need (another) PK-HQ. Yet. There's been so many care bear MMOs up till now I feel like some outcast minority in those games. You just can't PK like in old UO in any of them. There has been no outlet to measure up to those standards. Give me a tru PK game and then~ we can see about resurrecting PK-HQ or something like it.
