Darkfall is entering closed beta testing in September this year. The closed beta is fully playable, with most core features implemented. We will be adding features and content during closed beta, while we gear up for the next beta stages

Yeah, I have just read the interview, which is very good. It`s always nice to know how they are doing.
(We all have a nice tan now :D ). Uhh can`t wait till September, and it`s nice to know, that they haven`t change much from the original idea.

I'm actually pretty happy they got rid of flying mounts, I don't want them cowardly elves to fly on their pegasuses in the sky to avoid me :)

Looks like we have an exciting time ahead of us. Lots of cool stuff in the interview, too bad the flying mounts went out though, but I guess it would have been too crazy having people in the air dropping lightning spells and what not on the people below.
I'm not really surprised in any of the stuff the article says though, it sounds awesome and I know this game will kick ass =)

Flying mounts always sounded like a great idea, but if it was best taken out for game balance issues, I guess it can't be helped. They haven't shed any more light on the extent of how these boats and ships and be used (eg is it possible to live life at sea pirating?), but other than this it's basically how I expected and I'm definetely not dissapointed yet, and by the looks of it nobody else is either.

I had a gut feeling about SB too, it turned out to be an irritable bowl. You should get it checked out :blink: Very good read I am sad to see the flying mounts go, but I never really thought they would be that good for the game anyhow. And this gives me a whole new look on September... normally September will just be another school month, but now... it is the month of Darkfall... *tests beta link* Damn

Listen, there's two ways this can be done. Either you grudgingly accept that you are now a ridable and we work together to get around, or I complain to the Devs and get you nerfed so that I can drive you around.

Furthermore, mounting should be completely non-consensual. Horses have no say in the matter, why should Dwarves?

I think there some kind of inside trading here. Come out with it Gunther TheBlack how much money you paying those devs to post first about everything?!?!?

Damn good read though. I'm also hapy that flying mounts are gone. Everyperson and their mothers would be using them.

Things are looking up and can't wait to test this game and kick the butts of the other so called good games out there!!! :D

Well that all sounds great. Beta is right around the corner... And getting rid of flying mounts is not that bad. Who knows, maybe they will be added on after testing. I am very happy that there will be an involved and complex quest system. I love quests, but hate "fetch this and bring it here" missions.

Gunther is the quickest little dwarf I know. :P

Flying mounts was more of a 'perk' than a necessity. It's not a big deal to see it go.

Overall, I am very excited from this interview (a definate beta month.) We need more official news about DF!

Great interview! Flying mounts always had me worried anyway, I'm not sorry to see them go. What's wrong with the Mirdain having Unicorns for their mounts? That would be cool then they could stab people with that horn :D

thank god theres no more flying mounts. and i agree that unicorns would just make the entire elf race ashamed of ever riding their mounts outside of their own cities. but a giant rideable wolf or a grizzly bear would change everything....
only 6 more days till september, i hope it doesnt come out near the end of the month though. :D
