I remember reading that a Clan that consists of every race will not be able to build towns and cities. But let’s say we have a clan that consists of only humans and they own a town. Can they welcome ANY other race into their town? Even the alfar who otherwise seems to be an enemy to everyone?
Me and my friend’s idea is to build a freeport (with good connections to both inlands and the sea) and concentrate on trade. We want to welcome players of any race or alignment into or town, as long as they follow some rules.

I believe every clan can create a city, regardless of the races it has. Its just up to the leaders of that city to allow specific races/alignments and stuff or just allow anyone.

all races can build cities, but they cant have guards, because for instance if you have human guards, they will attack any ork players they see, even if theyre in your clan

He speaks the truth. You can very well have an all race clan and your all race clan can build a city together. And it is possible to maintain an all race city. But the only problem is, that you will not be able to station guards, without them going ape shit on the other players.
Lets say you hire human guards. All Orks, Alfars and Elves will be KOS. The guards all have preset alignments. You can not change those alignments, according to my knowledge.

Not to mention you would need a shit load of vendors because from what I remember a human vendor will not sell or buy from a ork, mahirim, or alfar.

Never heard of that, but it makes sense.
I wonder if it's possible to make three districts in your city, one for each race/faction and each of them with guards and vendors of proper race. And maybe fourth one without any guards or vendors where players could interact and trade and so on.

That is very interesting. It may very well be possible in DF. Fingers crossed :D

Nothing stops you, you just cant have any guards.
So good luck with those "rules".

I doubt that very much. The guards would still be to close to each other and would attack eachother and the other people.

noone ever said an ARAC couldnt create a city but it will be harder for them because they cant get many or any gaurds. And no if you have human gourds they will KOS any alfar they see.

There will be many "All race" citys in DF. With 10000 players, nothing is impossible:D
You just need to work harder to get it to work, and there is no real benefit from it either. Only the fun of it itself.

i thought at one point it was stated that the plan for all npcs, whether it's a guard or a vendor, would attack enemy races onsite. So you're human vendors would not only not sell to, but would aggro onto any orks or other enemy races. I think it's been a long time since I read that...

Rules? Excuse me...did you say rules? Rules, in a free-for-all PvP game? You expect strangers who come to your city and follow "rules" when there's plenty of trade items and potential gold to loot off other players they can kill?
I suppose the next thing you'll expect is for other clans to protect your "freeport" once the gloomer-effect kicks in, eh? Otherwise you would have to concentrate on more than simply trade.
Darkfall does not need all-race cesspools polluting the world map. Burn yourself in a fire, or I will once we get in game.
Sometimes you say wonderful things, Merrin.
