If anyone wants to use my ventrilo for their darkfall clans PM me. I want to establish a multi clan ventrilo, I have alot of slots. The reason for something like this, is it's alot more easy for clans to communicate also, other clans can communicate to each other. Rather than typing, Ventrilo offers users the option of using Real Life charisma when negotiating etc.

Reply if you think this is a good idea. I would like the feedback.

Seems pretty good, also means if clans want to trash talk they can. My Clan may be interested, but ill have to talk it other with them and the leader.

Darkfall's planning on having integrated voice support as far as I know, so Vent servers may not really be necessary. My guild has a vent server for its members though, but we have a lot of people from various DF clans in there for playing multiplayer games every day. Rune, Quake, various RTSes, and even some stupid java games every once in a while... it's much better when you've always got some one around willing to play a game of <insert title>. So yes, I think this is a good idea. The more people you cram into the same area the funner it seems to be, to me. I just don't like it when it gets so large and impersonal that it's basically like a Battle.net system, but I suppose we don't have to worry about that.

What exactly is the point of your public vent server though? You're pretty vague with your reasoning behind it.

it is a realy good idea becous clans can form aliance's and work together and then u will get a great comunity :D my clan will work together to clans and then just form aliance's to be a greater clan :)

Regarding my other post, My clan does not want to join at this current time. We may, however, change our mind closer to the release date. Untill then, good luck.

It sounds like a good idea in my opinion. That would take amazing server though. Also you would need moderators to make sure people are at least being slightly curtious. Otherwise anyone can easily just insult anyone any time they want.

Not adviseable, if the admin suddently doesnt like a certain guild that has been relying on the vent, then that clan could be in some deep shit without a vent.

I'm just saying, some people don't like to get insulted. Some people may hold a grudge, then comes some hacking and deletion of a webpage, then threats, and so on.

I see what you mean, but the thing is I'm overly zealous about equal and good management. To me the only people who do what you described are immature young teenagers who abuse admin cause well... they're stupid immature young teens. I don't give out server moderators either. Only Channel admins. The leaders of the Clan can pick who they want to be admin on their own channel. Now if it is a matter of the Lobby/General Channel, I'll pick out a few trustful moderators.

Be careful with that though...I've had many a problem with spammers and such in vent. Wouldn't want you guys getting the shaft as well.

Well then, if you can pull that off than it sounds like a pretty good idea to me. Just gotta make sure you get it right though. Also, gotta make sure the server is a nice size, lag will deter the masses.
