Board upgraded

We have upgraded the boards to Ikonboard 3.1.1.

If you are having any trouble please post about it here.
Most probably all your private messages will be gone. That is supposed to happen from what I have read over at the Ikonboard community boards.

I hope you like the new boards, and the new features.

Edit: Found an upgrade bug. To fix the ib_code in your sig, you need to edit your it by putting a [ ] (spac-key) at the end and saving. Sorry about that :P

Well, I'm ashamed to say this. But I REALLY don't like the colors. They're so pale, everything blends into everything. Might be my monitor setup. But I do like it when the bars have a little stronger color than the index and stuff like that. If you know what I mean.
So if it was possible to make the dark colors, even darker, that would be awesome!

Nice new look,but actually yes i get an error now and then,telling me page cannot be displayed,it happens mostly when i click on the newest thread of a certain topic from the board index,its ok when i refresh though.
Oh and when i click on the arrow thingy that takes you to newest post to.

The atmoshphere seems a little bit off... Its too happy for a game which will be featuring death, murder, blood, dwarven slaves, and more death.... ohh and lots of gore (*hint hint*)!!

maybe add some darker colors, or even make the shades of blue darker...

My first impression is that the colors sucks. It was much better before. Sorry about that but thats what I think.

We are using the default skin right now, which isn't very good looking.
We will be enabling the possibility of choosing your favorite skin from a list of skins we will be installing.
There are not many skins out right now for Ikonboard3.1.1, and most of them are pretty ugly, but if you find a skin you really like, or want to make one yourself, then post the info here.

Remember that Ikonboard 3.0.x skins do *not* work.

The skins are made inside of IB, it's not an external program.

Hmm. i went to Ikonboard, and surfed through their skins... They don't seem to have a very large selection of skins.  I would like to know how I could make one though.... That way we could have a better atmoshpeher to post in..  Or, if we could set it up so that each board has its own skin, or even each thread. (Doubtful, but its nice in the RP boards, to have a skin dependant on the mood of the story)

Pokeroo, skins aren't too hard to make but the process takes up lots of time.
Basically the way to do it is this:
Install IkonBoard (http://ikonboard.com) or find someone who'd let you use theirs
Go to Admin control panel -> Skins -> Create New Skin
Base it on whatever skin is installed, most likely it'd be the standard skin
After you create the skin (which will be the exact copy of the skin you based it on, but with your name on it), go to Skins -> Edit Skin Properties

Edit: Forgot, after youre done, use the export feature to save it on your HD =p

If I were you guys I would install Invision Board. Its a new board done by the same programmer who coded IkonBoard only it used PHP and MySql rather then flatfile like ikon uses. You can get it at WebLink (http://www.invisionpower.com/)

Yeah, I had brought this up in IRC. The entire team of 12 volunteers that created the original Ikonboard and worked on it up until version 3.0.2(?) left Jarvis Networks and created their own company. They came up with InVision board. I'm not sure how good that board is, but if they put as much work into it as they did Ikonboard, it should be great.

Just another option, but so far I don't see any problems with the current board other than the ghetto-carebear colors.

One error i noticed was that my password was wiped and i ahd to use the forgot password thing...

(I spent 30mins trying to get my password to work before and tried eVERY password i ahve ever used to no success)

Just would like to add that I tried the Darkfall skin, and I'm going back to the standard, because the Darkfall skin just made everything worse. Now it looks like some non-serious board for some low level mod for halflife. Or some teens board in a CS clan ;)

You really should change over to InvisionBoard.. it's much nicer and faster. Less resource intensive too.
