As many as they can defend and respawning and city protection.

You cannot destroy any buildings within X units of the clanstone without first disabling the clan stone. Clan stones can only be disabled for X ammount of minutes.

Clan stones are premade as part of the Darkfall map. They have a cap on how many people can respawn to them. So for example, if you only have one clan stone (and I'm guessing here) the clan stone only allows you to have 100 people bound to it, then your clan of 300 is going to have to find another two clan stones or be shit out of luck. Meaning that 200 of your clan will have to be bound somewhere else, probably their racial captial which could be hours away from wherever the fuck your clan stone happens to be.

This means if your clan want to expand their area, they need to get more clan stones to control.

There is more to note besides just clan members. I'm sure I read in the past that clan stones also account for how many NPCs are bound in the city, hence vendors/smithies/private guards and player-owned workers must also be counted among those 100 clan stone spots.

Possible, but I don't believe there's a dev quote that supports that.

Admittedly from 2003, but:

The only mistakes he made was "wut" and "r".
Seriously, I'm getting more sick of all these flamers than of people who write things in a way which are not perfect English (but still understandable!)

Just answer his question and leave it, or don't post at all.

just an add to what everyone answered with already.

There are land 'lots' pre-made and set up around Agon (# unknown). These 'lots' are the only place you are able to put up a 100 man clanstone. The clanstone is what claims that 'lot.' You then basically pay the clanstone to 'stay up.' Also, once an area is claimed you can build walls, banks, blacksmith, etc.

Clan stones also involve sieges (enemy takeover). But I don't know much about how it works in DF. If you ever played Shadowbane then base it off of that for now.
