If you don't mind, I'm going into deviantart mode.
Nice work with the paint-like colouring, was it a scan or did you CG? If that was CG, all the more envy to that. It definitely has a paintlike feel. Anatomy is good, the metallic scratches on the axe are a very nice touch, Seriously, if you have this in a print quality size, I'd say try selling it. It's better than most of the deviations I like, even though it's not my personal taste.
Dude, keep painting. No, really, that's impressive, even for the level I like to see from artists I follow. The subtle details like the chips in the axe handle are what make it that much better.

Its all done in photo-shop. This is the first thing like this i've ever done. And yea, after i leave high school I'm gonna try and stick to painting and art, hopefully even study fine art or something at university.

For a first time, that's some incredible work with lighting. You'll probably become a Nation-class or World-class artist if you took on a mentor. Try finding someone who likes your style that could teach you, don't change yourself just because someone else thinks you should do it their way. Seriously, that's what screws over most people when they're trying to get better, is by listening too much to their professors. Definitely find someone that would take you on and help you learn in your own style. Nonconformism ftw.
Really, take not of what you learn if you go to school, but change it to meet your needs, don't worry about grades or that shite, oftentimes a lettergrade has alot to do with the instructor and not so much with whether you used what you learned. Mrh, You'll figure it out, if you just stick to your guns, as it were.

Thats pretty nice.
When painting half-naked muscular males, muscles and muscle-details is important. You should try to define the muscles around the ribcage, and on the stomach a little more. The muscles on the arms also need a little more defining, and maybe some veins just as a finishing touch;) The hand is a bit off, but then again hands are sometimes really hard to get right.
You should try to get the anatomy right, and practise on smoother shading.
Of course im being picky right now, but it just miss the final touch:)
Otherwise i like it hehe.

ive had a bit more practice with photoshop. I checked out that link that salsabus posted and there was this assignment challenge thing where you had to draw an object and change it so it looks cooler.

I'm a huge fan of the tree-bot as well...too bad it lost the light during the paper to photoshop transition...understandable though, considering it's daytime and stuff
